The 40 percent Russian Minority in Estonia

Thanks to Russification (forced emigration of Russians to the Baltic countries), the percentage of Russians in Estonia went from 8 percent to 40 percent.

During the Soviet days, these Russians in Estonia were the cocks of the walk. But once the Soviet Union collapsed and Estonia gained independence, the party was over for them. So what happened to these Russians? They got pounded on during Estonian reprisals? They fled back to Russia? They still live in Estonia, but now they've learned humility?

First of all I think it's rather 25%, not 40%. They are still here. Some of them have adjusted well, learnt some Estonian, integrated into society and admit the fact that Estonia is no longer under Russian rule. Some however consider this situation more of a temporary one and wait for the Russian tanks to liberate them from this Capitalist oppression, lol. Matters are worse in towns which have larger proportion of Russians, that is mainly Narva and Tallinn, our capital. Hence the riots in Tallinn in April of 2007 etc.
