There is indeed much symbolism in the movie. I think I have to watch this fascinating movie again to actually understand some of it. :)
What did yu think of the last scene where a young boy comes out from the crowd wearing the tri-colored tee shirt?
I don't know. I know that halfway through the film when the crowds are there is it announced that a little boy with such a T-shirt is lost, but I'm not sure what it symbolizes.
Another thing that I noticed was that there seems to be a string of broken-love-stories through the whole film: Manisha Koirala was heartbroken, the politician was, the police officer whose wife was dying. I am not sure what Manish Jha was trying to say with this. Especially the scene in which the politician declares his love to the wife of I-don't-know-who: what was that supposed to mean?
I loved the film, let me make that clear. Apart from Anwar broken love story, the film shows a mirror to Indian society through the wide range of characters.
