Why did this get cancelled?

It was a good show wasn't it? At least give it a 2nd season

Think it got put up against something major like CSI or was on fridays

Multiple factors , bad placement, putting it up against other networks ratings champions right out of the gate and repeatly changing time slots among them. The show really had little chance to build a core following. Sad too because its a great show in a little used TV location and an GREAT cast . And not just the "names" but the supporting cast members made me want to know more about them like "Love Tap" and "Glue Boy"! What I find so strange is that Fox Network cancelled it yet folks STILL write and talk about it years later ! Somebody else must've like it as well as I did ! Maybe it was Mr.Anderson's/ Marion Boulet's strong view of the rebuilding of the Big Easy assisted in its quick demise? Whatever the cause it just never got a fair shake . I would be happy to own the existing episodes on dvd.

I think ultimately it was the writers strike that did K-Ville in.

Plus, wasn't it on Fox? Canceling shows is kinda their favorite pastime.

The 21st century is when everything changes.

Canisloco is absolutely right. The writer's strike finished off this show. They only had a handful of episodes within their first season, while other shows had years worth of re-runs they could draw from. The writer's strike proved to be a phenomenal force and the audience did what they do when bored, they stuck to the familiar.
