Does anybody from New Orleans actually enjoy this show?

As far as procedural cop/buddy shows go, this one was okay. Better humor than most, at the very least.

However, it bills itself as a sort of insider's view of a post-Katrina New Orleans. On that level, it fails and does so pretty miserably. As n evacuee myself, I've seen New Orleans pre- and post-Katrina, and while it tries hard, this show cashes in on only the most convenient stereotypes. (And this is at its best. At its worst, what it shows is utter *beep*

I can see how people who don't know much about NOLA would really enjoy this show, but what about the rest of us? Any Yats out there that truly find value in this show?

I personally liked the show. The story lines were true and that was what alot of people didn't like about the show. There are people who don't want certain areas to get rebuilt and there are crooked cops and politicians. Every episode that did air showed what everone knows to be true about New Orleans.

Alot of the people who had complaints were people who don't want to come to terms with reality.

Wake up people. The lower 9th ward is nowhere close to back, gas is expensive, we are in a recession, and all races will and ages will move back to New Orleans.

What reality is there to face? Gumbo Party's? No one from NOLA, be it Ninth Ward, Uptown, Garden District, Mid City, Quarter, Westbank, or other has ever called it a "Gumbo Party".

The natives call it "Sunday Dinner at Maw Maw's House".

The OP was referring to the cliches and stupid sayings like that.

It wasnt in reference to the city being destroyed, lack of help, or not being rebuilt. SMH

absolutely not...i think it's horrible and the writers know nothing about new orleans but cliches. the first episode i watched was full of terrible cliches that i could only laugh at. first of all, he was making a shrimp po-boy for breakfast. that never happens. he talked about a gumbo party later...never happens. we have crawfish boils, but not gumbo parties. i can't remember everything. it's been over a year now, but i hated what i saw of this embarrassment.

I've had Beer and Pizza for Breakfast_ I've even had Gumbo for Breakfast_

Clarify what your'e saying - no self-respecting native of the N.O. ever would be caught dead eating a Po'Boy for Breakfast?

Besides - you don't like the show simply because it speaks of Gumbo Parties instead of Crawfish Boils?

What is your favorite show? Please post back so that we may rip apart all of the technical inaccuracies that are littered about within it_ Because I am absolutley certain that your favorite show is the only show on television that is completely Flawless_

you won't change kern's opinion, so why are you trying to? He was asked to post his opinion of the show, and he said that in his opinion, it was bad. If you liked the show, then say so, no need to fight people...
