Could Nero be a reincarnation of Vergil?

He seems to be young, and DMC4 takes place some time after DMC1, where Vergil died. Notice his name is similar to Nelo Angelo, Vergil's name as Mundus' servant, his devil trigger appears to be a ghost version of Vergil, and also, he wields Yamato, Vergil's sword. Seeing as his origin...or anything about him really, is left untold, this could be the explanation for his similarities to the sons of Sparda. Either that, or he was posessed by Vergil's spirit at a young age. I know, i haven't played the game yet, so maybe something is said in it which already discredits the theory, but seeing as Vergil is a fan favorite, as well as an important part of the story, yet is deader than dead, this is Capcom's way of kinda bringing him back.
Either that, or Sparda had a few more adventures besides Eve. :P

I doubt it. In a recent interview Hiroyuki Kobayashi (The Producer of DMC 1 and DMC 4) said Vergil disappeared...he didn't say dead. DMC 4 has tons of plotholes and it never says what kind of connection Nero has to Dante...only that he has the blood of Sparda. Some people say it's Vergil reincarnated...but really...i think it's Sparda...maybe. Vergil is such a popular character that i don't think Capcom would just forego him. I think someday he might have his own spin-off series.

Ehm...Playing the game many, many times,i noticed it's quite clear Nero IS the reincarnation,or at least is possessed by the soul of good ol' Vergil...The blue spirit when he devil-triggers,Yamato,the way Dante and him interact...It's subtle but very clear ;)

It's NERO Angelo, not Nelo. It translates to 'Black Angel' in Italian.

I haven't a clue about Nero's origin, but now they've left it for another game they'd better come up with something special.
