They Need to Continue the Story from DMC 2

Come on! Two Games and we haven't even got an answer from DMC 2. I demand DMC 5 takes place where DMC 2 left us off!

Last Movie Seen:
Cloverfield 8/10
Rambo 8/10
Juno 10/10

i am alone on this i can tell... but i have never met another dmc that liked dmc 2 other then me. dmc 2 is supposed to take place inthe far future of dmc. dante is 40 years old in dmc 2. pehaps part 5?

reply

As much as I liked DMC 2 it sucked in comparison to the other 3, souly because of the awful story. I prefer that they dont expand on 2 and just keep up what their doin, basing part 5 on 2 would be such a waste.. especially now since Nero has been introduced into the series.

agreed

i pretty much agree with you it's not like how metal gear solid 3 painted a clearer picture in that series story line. although i got bored fast with dante since the swords he had were boring i thought it was funner playing as lucia. seeing a progressive storyline develop with both of them seems better than this star wars copy catting going to prequels like the programmer/storyline geeks have done with alot of games.

P.S.: don't take it hard, just shake your head and laugh

Well, why can't they intertwine Nero's story with Dante's?
OK, so there IS the bike sound at the end...why can't that be Nero showing up to ask something of Dante or whatever, and having to go to Hell to get him? (I did not yet play 4, but going with what everyone says, there's still lots of Nero ahead)
I loved DMC2, while i now recognize after playing 1 and 3 that it is the weakest of the 3 in gameplay and story, but it is still a worthy entry and by no means does it deserve to be decanonized, especially when it leaves off with an interesting premise.

Alot of people have to understand. Without DMC 2 there wouldn't be the fantastic gameplay of DMC 3. Hideaki Itsuno (The Director for both DMC 3, DMC 2 and the recent DMC 4) started off pretty much with a buggy prototype gameplay in DMC 2...but then it got better tweaked in DMC 3...now in DMC 4 it has evolved a lil with Nero's Devil Bringer and Dante's selectable style switch on the fly on the D-Pad. Which is great!.

In my opinion, i hope Capcom does give us a TRUE sequel (DMC 4 is still a prequel) and Lucia return to the series...even though alot of people hate her. But with Itsuno and Yuji Shimomura doing the choreography...she could wind up as a different character...and a different VA since Trish's VA in DMC 1 isn't in DMC 4.

i did not hate the character lucia only her voice. but i enjoyed DMC2 i just think they should have added more than just swords.

I think that a DMC 2 sequel is unlikely. Capcom seems to be wanting to forget that it ever happened. It is set quite a bit in the future, leaving room for countless sequels to DMC4 that occur before DMC2.

Yeah Im fairl certain it is not going to happen. Nothing happens after DMC2 because DMC2 didn't happen :)
