This movie was bad.
It was unfunny, weak, badly acted out, horribly directed, and no one likes it but mentally challenged rodents.

The chipmunks movie worked. I'm almost 25. Been a fan since the 80's. I loved the cartoon version and the movie was pretty decent. I do hope the second one eliminates the whole hip/hop thing. However I do remind myself that they had the chipmunks pretty much hating the "gangsta" clothing. So I have high hopes for AaTC2.

Same here. I loved the Chipmunks cartoons and movies when I was a kid and I was expecting to hate the live-action movie. But it was actually really good.

And the cartoony cuteness of the chipmunks' been replaced with hairy tastelessness.
I normally love children's movies, and I LOVE the Chipmunks from my childhood, so I had high hopes for this movie. But I didn't like it at all. :(
shareI agree. I loved Alvin and the Chipmunks whilst growing up but this movie was absolutely terrible in my opinion. Horrible acting; Horrible script; Horrible deliveries and all the human characters were annoying.
shareIt wasn't a masterpiece, no. But, it was cute. No need to be bitter because it wasn't what you wanted. I didn't expect much, and was pleasantly surprised. Ease up guys! It's a kids movie. Try and find your inner child and connect with it. You might find you have less to complain about........

I thought it was brilliant, i prefer the alvin show and the episodes of the 80s/90s incarnation with out those hateful annoying chipettes involved in the episodes but it wasn't bad at all. come on it wasn't as crap as bee movie or that boring film ratatooe and no i dont care how ya spell it
shareOBVIOUSLY made for VERY LITTLE kids cuz they're the only ones that would sit through this crap. the cartoons were somewhat fun to watch, i guess but come on people this was dreadful. it just was. the acting wasn't that good, the visuals were nothing special- it wasn't funny(badly written) would've probably worked better as a CGI animated film instead of live action(i actually thought it was until I saw the trailer-which was WEAK but I decided to give it a chance. Big mistake...

shareIMDb ratings mean nothing. The fact that two of the most boring movies in history -The Godfather ones- are on the top 3 rank goes to show you how crazy ratings are. In my opinion, if you really wanna know how good or bad a movie is, you gotta watch for yourself and this one was pretty good.
