The title

Beginning with the animated series, shouldn't the title be "Dave and the Chipmunks". If Alvin is also a chipmunk, then what's the point in calling it "Alvin and the Chipmunks". It's as if they're implying Alvin isn't really a chipmunk. Probably just sounds better that way, I guess.
