Clearly the ending...*spoiler*

is meant to be interpreted individually by each viewer, meaning there is no right or wrong answer.

Most people have stated that it is another walker in Sam's picture heading towards him.

In my theory, why would they show another one coming towards him in the picture if there were three behind, even closer?? very much his dad who had survived (as did the old man from earlier)

his dad was alive, coming back for Sam (although he wasnt sure originally if he would survive or not, which is why he appeared to be saying goodbye to him beforehand) and the whole premise of the ending is basically about how little Sam is fcked, because his father wouldntve reached him before the walkers who were a lot closer. And thats where it's supposed to be a shock and sad for the viewer.

Does anyone else agree that this motive is heaps better than "there were three walkers behind him and one coming from the front??"

I mean, again, why have three walkers in the background and one in the photo?? Seems silly, if that were the case why not just have the three behind and no reflection in the photo??
Obviously the evil was coming from behind where little Sam is oblivious, and his saviour is heading towards, leading Sam to believe wrongly that he will be ok

quite enjoyed this, but I do think there was a lot left unexplained, things like the cat dying and such.

The one thing I got from the ending is an overwhelming sense of relief when I realised the piece of garbage was finally over. Jeez didn't Kevin Costner care what he appeared in, as long as he got the money. This from the man who made Dances With Wolves.

And also from the man who made "The Postman" and "Waterworld". Don't get me wrong, he's been in some great films, and directed and starred in a fantastic one, but he's also been in some real stinkers. It's the same with just about every actor and actress out there. Many have been in good films, but just about all have been in stinkers, at some point or another.
