I liked it, thats why we need to learn history... (spoilers)

Hey, it's good, I liked it!! Awesome crime, and really it's pretty smart to steal money from a Reserve Bank, since the money is gonna be destroyed, it cant be tracked. Damn the IRS and paying taxes, criminals need to learn from Al Capone. The IRS caught them in the end because of taxes, geez geeez. Anyway, I liked it a lot. Its cool how 3 different people can team up very well to both, do the movie as 3 different actresses, and 3 completely different characters working together for a common cause. You see, this is precisely why we need to learn history, to see Al Capone's mistake and not redo it.

AWESOME MOVIE!!!

any thoughts?

This movie does not accurately portray how the Federal Reserve handles cash (to be destroyed or recirculated). How they steal the money could never happen in reality. Enjoy the movie for it's comedic appeal, but don't think this is a smart, realistic story.

I thought it was a very smart movie and of course it does not tell us how we can steal from the Federal Reserve who in their right mind would do that????? This was not a documentary, it was fun light hearted comedy that required a suspension of disbelief, but that is the way of movies.

I agree with you. After I saw the movie I was left with a nagging question. Ted Danson's character was smart enough to come up with plausible sources of their money and yet he forgot to pay the taxes????? That was a huge plot hole for me. Otherwise I really liked the movie.

Well, Al Capone made the same mistake. So smart to do everything, but, hey, he forgot to pay taxes... hmmm...

Well think about it, how do you even begin to declare stolen money, and the government hasn't taken it yet?

reply

Exactly novastar that's why they didn't pay taxes, there was no way for them to declare it, and they couldn't funnel it through a dummy business because they didn't have one. Even though Ted Danson's character said he was a consultant, he still would have needed to have clients, which he didn't.

That's also why he told them not to spend more then $10,000 dollars. You can get away with not declaring money, people who work as servers in restaurants do it all the time, but once you start making large sum purchases, then the government has to start questioning because there's no way a person with such a low salary could afford those things unless they're doing something illegal.
Houses, RVs, $62,000 rings, those are just things you have to have verifible income in order to aquire. Although the ring she probably could have gotten away with.
