I will never understand the mindset that she was in when she chose to do this film over The Dark Knight. What was she thinking? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Yeah, I know she is a Scientologist; but I figured that even she could spot that this film was, well... Crap.

In other words, she thought The Dark Knight wasn't going to be a success, so she didn't reprise her roll. Absolutely, the WORST mistake of her career. Perhaps the worst decision made by anyone, ever. If she has any brains at all she should be kicking herself right now. Even if you don't like The Dark Knight then it still has to be agreed that the amount of press and awards received by it makes it the better choice by a huge margin. It was clear that The Dark Knight was going to do pretty good, even before Heath Ledger's untimely death - perhaps the hysteria wasn't quite as big way back then, but Batman Begins did fairly well and its sequel would obviously do better at least than Mad bloody Money (which has practically been forgotten already). I think I read something Katie Holmes said once about her wanting to star in a big film yet she always seems to end up in bombs, with decisions like this one it's hardly surprising is it? I actually laugh to myself every time I think of her starring in this crap instead of the 4th highest grossing film of all time.
