Hi, I'm the guy who made the film and let me tell you, working with distributors and protecting your work from mis-marketing is no easier for filmmakers than it is for recording artists.
I'm not just talking about "artistic" integrity, I mean protecting your work from being marketed as something it isn't.
Imagine buying a DVD with misleading box art that has little or nothing to do with the movie you actually see on the DVD. That sucks, right? I can't agree with that kind of marketing, which is pretty much the hold up right now.
To break that impasse, I'm convinced (now more than ever) that self-distribution on Amazon.com offers the most control over the marketing of my work worldwide, so you know exactly what you're buying. I'll make less money initially but I'm sure it will catch up over long term sales, once people get turned onto it because it's an amazing movie for a number of reasons.
