Why did so many talented actors sign on for this crap?

This movie was garbage from start to finish. I did not care one iota what happened to any of the characters. The screenplay was a complete dud. So much goes completely unexplained and the script was sometimes laughable.

2/10

so, they are wrong because you don't care? Nice.

Well, we all have our opinions and that is why we are allowed to rate/vote on it. I gave it a pretty low score. A big fan of Kate Beckinsale, I was hoping for more from the movie but she did her part well. Totally out of character compared to her usual roles so kudos for pulling it off. The originator of this thread was just expressing his thoughts and some of you really ripped on him. You can rip on me next, I hated it, too. I think there is a reason it went straight to DVD - I found it in the $5 bin at Wally World. Only the star power cast caused me to buy it. And lastly- it really earned its R rating!

Rating it a 2/10 doesn't support your claims of garbage, dudness and laughability.

Started off well but descended into one awful film with no explanation for some of the events that took place. Waste of some good actors.

What were some of the things that you wish had been explained? I was curious about the motives of the shooter, for example, but found that the movie concentrated on the effects of this disaster on the lives of the people involved, and, for me, that was powerful.

It is true that the shooter's motives and the lives of the victims pre-shooting are left a complete mystery. But instead of a back story, we were given ample fore story.

"So much goes completely unexplained"

Right, so you didn't understand half the movie because things weren't spelled out to you, and that's why you hated it. Not your type of cinema then.

Stick with the "Transformers" movies and similar ones. That way you won't have to hurt yourself having to think about what a movie is trying to convey to you.
