Why Is There No DVD/Blu-ray Release For This Series?

Why hasn't this show been released to DVD/Blu-ray yet? Is it because of music copyrights or do the show's producers believe that not enough people are interested in this show to warrant a DVD release?

I enjoy watching the show for free on Hulu.com, but I would really like an official DVD release with perhaps a few bonus features (a making-of feature, deleted scenes, audio commentary perhaps?). It's been three years now, and this show still remains my favorite show from the 2007-08 season. From what I see this show does seem to have somewhat of a following, so why not make a DVD set for at least the devoted fans of "Journeyman"?

I have wondered the same thing for some time, of course I was hacked that the networks cut it to begin with. I really enjoyed this soon and thought it had very good stories in each episode. Over the years the shows I seem to like best always get canceled, can anyone say "Nuts" for JERICHO?

I think it could be because of the music copyrights.

Yeah, it's probably the music rights. I don't know exactly how it works but it sounds pretty stupid that such a great show is being held up over something so petty.
It's not like this show was made years ago when there was no home video market to plan for, it was only a few years ago, they should have written that into the contract when they paid for the rights initially.
It's bad enough this show got cancelled way too soon, we should at least have the option of buying it on DVD.

Quite true. I would assume that every show negotiates this sort of thing upfront with the assumption that they'll be released.

If they didn't do this for Journeyman, they were complete morons.

At least they're on Hulu.

May I ask from where?

That would be a good way to watch it. Any information on how, or where, to do so?

Honestly, I think NBC will just have to do what MTV did with Daria and drop any and all pretenses of obtaining permission to use the licenced music featured when the show was running back in 2007/2008. Just throw in some copyright free music or leave the BG absolutely silent and release the series on DVD already.

I know there are those who never got the see the series when it was running, but the recorded episodes I've got on DVD-R have the show as it was originally presented and its on Hulu.com, so I'm not going be gutted that they removed the Verve's "Lucky Man" from Double Down (I think that's the episode it was featured in), among other things.

I hadn't thought of that, but you could be right. One thing I've noticed is that whenever I can't quite tell to which decade Dan's bounced, I just listen to the background and there's usually music from that decade playing. Then I know.

I'd've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids.
