What do you think of the movie just forgetting about about Uncle Ben's killer midway through the film?

I think it is an extremelly flawed thing. If it had anything to do with the movie showing you that Peter did overcome the issue, that he learned to let go, that would be fine. But they showed nothing of sorts. That is the kinda thing that you would think they would leave out for a sequel, but they didn't

The Amazing Spider-Man series always seemed like a bunch of writers throwing things against a wall to see what sticks. They never had a set plan. When this movie came out, I suspected it would be forgotten quickly, especially in light of the rumors during this time that Spidey would revert back to the MCU.

Yes. The Amazing series, especially the first one are movies made that, if I were to give my honest opinion, by professionals that didnt try all that hard. On the second Amazing I actually had fun in the theatre, but it has loads of heavy problems as well

You missed the point completely. He dropped searching for Uncle Ben's killer because of what Captain Stacy said about Spider-Man punishing criminals and it being wrong. So he dropped going after Uncle Ben's Killer to focus on doing right as Spider-Man. Frankly I feel though like you are just one of those fans who thinks the Raimi movies are better and therefore won't give any other Spider-Man movie a chance.

reply

No. Of course I give the other Spidey flicks a chance. Raimi movies are indeed my favorites but Im definitely no idiotic fanboy who cant see past his favotite films. I have watched TASM countless times and of course I know what you're talking about with Captain Stacy. I just wish that through the script or through Webbs filmaking that that particular point could have been made more effective.

Im not the best one to comment on this but didn't he find the guy who stabbed his uncle and beat him up?

reply

No, he never found him.

It made the movie more realistic. New York is a big city. How's he going to find some specific street thug? He can't be everywhere all the time, and he can't afford city-wide surveillance like Batman.
