It's not fault of previous franchise that these films were poor. Stop pointing your fingers at old films because these films have failed. Reminds me of MCU fans and their logic; "If someone says something negative about MCU, I will point finger at DCEU and tell how much they suck." Although, Raimi's Spider-Man are way better than DCEU films.

Raimi's films did it better than these films did. It's like starting off with a good product and then switching to a bad one.

There isnt really a true comparison between the two, other than the brand and characters. TASM failed in every way where the Raimi series succeed.
But fans will always blame a perfectly well made product on 2nd thought and years after a new has been released.
Same as the laughable comparison that fans of Suicide Squad trashing Heath's portrayal as the Joker all of a sudden in favor of the terrible one by Leto's.
