Great show BUT!!!

I really wish they wouldn't have killed off komina. that is my one and only problem with this show. the whole three forths without him the whole time i was thinking why why why he should be the second pilot! i mean i know it was all about simone and him becoming the leader but they coulda had him like say it's all up to you and what not and not die!

Evil must be punished. Even in the face of armageddon I will not compromise in this.

You really should've put that in spoiler tags, but as long as you're freely revealing it...

I kind of agree, but Kamina was just too cool to live. The story is supposed to be about Simon, and Kamina is such a powerfully inspiring character that he completely overshadowed him.

Spoilers along the way!
If Kamina did not die, this would be totally different show.
Killing Kamina was essential to the plot and was not artificial. Sometimes people die, especially when waging a war. And he died a good death, not a stupid or overly heroic death. This is one the things that made this show unique for me. I had more problems with deaths of the rest of the crew, as they were artificial and not necessary. They just killed off few characters to add some drama - this is what I did not like.
Of course it is all my opinion.

That was one of the great points in the show. It took alot of balls to create such an awesome character and kill him off. It shows that the writers aren't all about their favorite character and care about the story as a whole.

Kamina was the best thing about this show. He made everything epic and wonderfully ridiculous. It was okay after he was gone until the 7 year jump. Then, it everything just got absurd. Between the galaxy sized mechas and the deus ex machina head in a jar, I was very disappointed with the second half of the series.

Evil finally escaped Jordan's sight. It hid inside him.

Kamina's death was the cause that made Simon start to grow up.
