Wow, now this show is funny1

I watched the pilot. kinda funny. the guy who plays jesus was hilarious. but it left me wanting more, and wondering where this show was going to go. Then I watched episode 2. Hilarious. Jeffery Tambour at his best, Al Madrigal as Jesus was classic.

I see all the negative comments here. I ask you, how many comedies show their brilliance in the pilot? How many take years to grow? This has the potential of being the best comedy on CBS. They better order more episodes. If not, I bet we see Madrigal somewhere else soon.

If you're not watching or tivoing it, you will be out it when this show sneaks up on people and becomes the talked about comedy of the spring.

keep 'em coming, CBS.

I agree. I came here not expecting to see so many negative comments. I enjoyed the first episode, and thought the second episode was even better. I liked the characters and like the atypical format. I hope that CBS gives it a chance.

And I don't understand all the negative comments about Jeffrey Tambour. I think he is quite funny.

I love this show so far. All of the characters are hilarious, especially Jesus.

Agreed,

Anybody ever see a little show called Seinfeld? That took some time to really show it's colors! I think this show has potential and it probably didn't have time for re-writes with the strike going on. The first two episodes didnt blow me away, but gave me enough chuckles to make me look forward to the next show.

I've seen Al Madrigal on Comedy Central and he is freaking hilarious. We just need to give this show a chance.

anything with Jeffrey Tambour in it WILL be great!

Most of the negative comments i've read are from people who say they miss 2 and a half men and the big bang theory... that tells you their sense of humour...
laugh track = funny

Yeah, I thought the first two episodes were kind of meh, but this episode they showed tonight was hilarious. Sure, we've seen these types of characters before, but they're likable and charming enough. Jesus is the stand-out for me, personally.

Favourite line: "You went to see David Hasselholf in The Producers?" That had me howling with laughter, but then again I'm a fan of The Producers, so any reference will make me smile.

"I was born in Düsseldorf and that is why they call me Rolf."

I really think this show is funny and has huge potential... if they don't cancel it like every other good show.

Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled with the first two episodes, but last night's was a big improvement- very funny and hopefully a good sign of things to come if the show lasts.

I am with you whole-heartedly! This a sleeper surprize comedy of mid-season. I thought ALL the characters were great! I love that classic old Hollywood hotel made apartments setting. I love that actor Tambor and his celebrity name dropping. Jesus? He is slapstick great. Raquel? She doesn't ever do any wrong! She is Mae West come back to life. I love this show! And I missed the first two episodes. I saw the third. It works for me. And it is SOOOOOO old Hollywood as it has been pictured - the old established Hollywood.

Let's cross our fingers. This is a "Seinfeld" sleeper waiting to wake up and jump start all viewers!!

Later - love your inputs! Love the show. Love it!! (How many "loves" was that as references, I ask , oh well - I am hooked.)

Raquel doesn't ever do any wrong? Evidently you haven't seen a little movie called "Myra Breckinridge", albeit her performance is the best thing in that movie. Seriously though, I am a fan of hers and think she's doing pretty well on the show considering how little she's had to do so far.

Finally, some people that can see potential in this show. I watched the pilot of this and thought that it may be a good show, and haven't missed an episode yet. I think it is funny as heck. Jesus and Uncle Saul make this show for me. This is certainly a sleeper hit for me, but, and I will apologize now, typically new shows that I really like, go away quickly, so if this gets cancelled, it's probably my fault.

I agree, this show has a lot of potential. The character collection reminds me slightly of Arrested Development. Actually, the whole format of the show reminds me of Arrested Development minus the narration. Which was a pain anyway since it forced you to stay rapt attention the whole time, least you miss a joke. It also reminds me of 30 Rock in character and format. Both quality shows. I hope it stays on and is given a chance to develop a good following.

I think it's getting some initial bad feedback because the jokes are a bit more subtle than your typical sit-com. Hopefully, those who don't need a laugh track to pick up on a joke will watch it in big enough numbers to give it good ratings.

Arrested development was one of the funniest shows of the recent past. That cast was well assembled, well narrated, and required some kind of intelligence to watch. this unfortunatly is not a cast set up to brin Jeffrey Tambour to his best. which has a lot of potential, since he is the funniest guy in this line up. I dont know that I saw anything funny enough to make me watch again.

I really like how this show has no laugh track. It shows that they are confident in their material and that they do not have to tell us when to laugh, which is great! I hope this keeps going for at least another season.

I really look forward to this each week, it isn't hugely *memorable* the day after, but that's okay! It leaves me with a smile, makes me laugh... out loud (almost a novel concept when you consider most comedies), and looks great in HD :)

Not that I am saying anything interesting, but I feel the negativity on imdb needs to end, and this thread needs to grow.
