Did her mother was married? If she was a ballerina, did she try something like what Nina tried? Did she wanted that Nina to be perfect?

There's something wrong with Esther.
In the film, Nina explains her mothers dance history when her mother tells her the role is too much for Nina. In saying she can handle it, Nina insults her mother telling her "you never made it out of the corps [the body of supportive dancers that don't perform solos, the corps de ballet]. Her mother also mentions that she gave up ballet when pregnant with Nina.
As to the father, it's not explained and is irrelevant to the story.
