Agreed. Plus "sex" itself doesn't just free someone up, as if chains are broken from their person. Sex is just an act. It's the mentality behind it that changes a person. Plenty of people out there have bland, lifeless, frigid sex. Even if Nina had before, it's not to say it was some ultra release of emotion for her. It could have just been her laying on a bed like a statue. Actually, that's the impression I got from her character coming into the movie.

It has been a while since I have seen BS, but from what I remember Nina gave me the vibe that she was frigid in every way, not just sexually. Obviously she also had major issues emotionally that had nothing to do with sex.

Natalie Portman really nailed that role as Nina - I have read many negative criticisms about her performance in the movie and I never understood why. What I don't understand are critics as in professional critics and online critics that post on IMDB constantly crapping on someone's acting skills. I have had my critical moments myself, but really who am I to judge someone's performance in a movie?
Mila Kunis got a lot of flak for her performance in the movie as well, I think she did as great job as the natural "black swan"(at least that is how I saw her character in the movie)because she gives off that rebellious vibe.
