Because it really was no good at all. It had basically no jokes at all and the acting was all over-the-top. Really, just an embarrassment.

The actors were really good and I thought it was really funny
"No good at all" is being kind. It was terrible. Old pros like Sara Botsford and Mimi Kuzyk should be ashamed of the over the top scenery chewing they displayed here. A total waste of thirty minutes. CBC has produced the 21st century's answer to "The Trouble with Tracy". At least "Tracy" wasn't made with public funds. "Sophie" should be smothered at birth.

"Trouble with Tracy" for the new century. Good one. But I think you're mistaking public broadcaster with public funds. Most Canadian shows are made with public funding and grants and I doubt "Trouble with Tracy" was any exception. Besides, I think they only spent about $100 per episode.

I live in the USA and found this show via www.sharethefiles.com and don't think the show is bad. It isn't 10 outta 10 but I rated the show a 7 out of 10 on the imdb. My wife thinks it's cute so far but we've only downloaded 3 episodes so far. So we'll see. Any news if it's going to be renewed?

shareBasically, this is a French-Canadian show (with french-canadian actors) and i can assure you, the french-canadian version is totally better. They change all the synopsis and everything in this english version... For the moment, that french show is probably one of the best in Quebec. So if you understand french, try it!

I watched the pilot last night and was so annoyed with the over-acting of the lead and the truly unfunny "jokes." How did it picked up for a second season. Does it get better?
I'm watching episode 14 of season 2 as I type this, and it's still corny and boring. If Natalie Brown wasn't so gorgeous, I wouldn't watch it at all.

I get that Sophie is a new mom who just got cheated on by her ex but, the baby's black so; did she cheat on him at some point or, does Rick have black grandparents and just appears to be white?
From what I noticed, most of last sitcoms are joke and as bad as this one. I would not call this show worse than Ugly Betty or Disparate Housewives. The same type of the show and the same bad acting. I didn't liked it when I saw the first episode, because the actor I respect so much Sebastian Spence acted so badly, that I couldn't watch it. But when I watched more episodes I understand that this is the typical sitcom, which produced for American or Canadian TV. I just watched 4 movies from Donald Strachey Series and 2 seasons of First Wave and Sebastian Spence good in them, especially in Donald Strechey Mysteries Series. And suddenly I saw the same actor who act so badly in the show, that I can barely watch it. I was really disappointed, but I understand that many actors have no choice in what show they would play. But could he be a little more convincing? Probably not. Sebastian Spence is a good actor and good guy and for him it's really hard to play a jerk. He would not know how to play it. That's why his character is so fake. With the face of the boy next door it's really hard to believe he could be a bad guy. I think if you are bored and want to watch something, this show will work. there were some funny moments and the actress, who played lead role was good.
