Did anyone find this documentary depressing?

I just found the whole thing very sad. I love TLC and am a huge fan of their music. I never knew much about Lisa, but it just seems like she was very confused and didn't have her life together before she died. She was just very strange and needed help. Throughout the documentary, she seemed like she had it together based on her theories and journal entries- I think it was that she thought she had it together but anyone else seeing it would think she needed to go see a psychologist. She was just so troubled up until her death. It was just very depressing and i have no interest in ever watching it again. Some of the things she would do- like carving hate into her wrist, the whole personality issues (being nikki and being lisa), all the numerology stuff and herbal stuff she would drink. I think all of it made her crazier. Not to mention when her and her boyfriend went into the jungle and played Tarzan & Jane, that she wanted to be one with the animals and walked around naked. She was a very talented young woman and I just wish she would've had more time to get her life together. The clip of the car crash was so disturbing and it was extremely sad. I didn't expect the documentary to be that way at all. I was in for quite a suprise and a shock! Did anyone else find it depressing?

Although I agree that the documentary is very depressing, I don't agree that it made her crazier. Yes, I think was HIGHLY spiritual and had a difficult time distinguishing the human Lisa from the entity Lisa. From watching this documentary, it almost seemed like her last days were like putting a puzzle piece together. To be honest, it all depends on one's outlook of life. From an outsider's perspective, people tend to view her as this girl who was losing control over her life. But I look at it differently, it was almost like for once in her life, she was discovering who she really was. I am positive Lefteye is finally at peace with herself and in the heavens above smiling. As far as her and her boyfriend playing around in the jungle....I didn't make much of it. She seemed to just want to get away from all the negative press and people surrounding her. It was almost like saying, "I WANT TO BE FREE" and I find it to be perfectly normal, especially for someone in the entertainment industry. So many people in the entertainment industry use drugs and alcohol as an escape, but I felt like Lisa was too good for that, hence her spiritual journies off in Central America. It seemed perfectly healthy to me. As far as the herbs, I don't think it made her crazier, I think it's great to want to take care of body as best as you can. (I'm sort of biased in this area because my grandmother is always preaching to me about taking care about myself through the right kind of diet, vitamins, herbs, etc...)

At the end of the day, from what I could grasp through interviews, the music, and this documentary, it seems like she had such a beautiful spirit; almost something rare. May she R.I.P.

It was beautiful.

I found it a little depressing too, before I saw this I liked to think she had died happy. But this documentary made it pretty clear that she wasn't very happy at all. Still I don't think she was insane just because she had different spiritual beliefs. Some would say it's crazy to believe in a guy who got hung on a cross too. What's the difference if she believed in numbers and spirits? The naked jungle stuff was just her playing around. But I do agree that she didn't seem to have her life together and that makes me feel sad.

Well, I didn't really find it "depressing", but I felt that overall, it was pretty sad. I never was into TLC and I didn't know much about Lisa until I watched this documentary. It was really interesting learning about Lisa's life.

I don't think it was depressing...but a lot of things that other people would call depressing don't come off as such to me.

You know, this was a look into her life and anytime you see that, or you read about it, you're going to find a lot of painful truths about that person...whether you read their biography or see them on video in a documentary like she was...the ugly truth is going to come out because there's no reason to hide anything anymore, or even try to hide it...and Lisa it seems was so long restricted in what all she could really say...I think it all had to finally come out and that's what happened...over the years she'd tell interviewers and TV cameras bits and pieces, but never the whole story...and even here we didn't get the whole story but we came closer than ever. Probably the only thing that can get us closer to the whole story will be if that book she was writing will ever come out even if it is incomplete.

Everybody says she's crazy, but I don't think all that stuff made her crazier...she'd said for a long time that she'd been through a lot of stuff, and she wanted to get herself straightened out before she had kids so they didn't have to talk about her like she talks about her daddy and her nana. I think what she was doing was trying to get everything out so there would be nothing left to eat at her and it could all be in the open and then she could concentrate on what was to come next. But clearly Heaven missing an angel got in the way of her plans.

NovaStar,
Your reply lets me know that some people walked away with the intended reaction we had in mind when making the documentary. But everyone is different and some people will never get her... We are working on the Biopic Movie on Lisa right now, so maybe that will fill in the blanks for some peoples understanding.

Lisa was not confused, people were confused by her. Not many people get to the point where they can share themselves with the entire world and the ones that do are always hiding something. Crazier? She was never Crazy, just played into the media at times. People call Crazy, what they cant grasp or understand. Numerology and herbs don't make u crazy. Religion and toxic food can, we just call it 'Cancer' of the mind or body. Lisa was very spiritual and knew God. Nature is the closest thing to God and she wanted to be close.... and now she is.
Thanks for watching!

I don't own anything by TLC, and don't like rap or R n B.
However, I teared up several times. And watching the wreck was shocking and painful.
