Can't watch it again, threw DVD in garbage

this is too tragic for me to watch again. I don't think the family should have released this footage. Now our last memory of Lisa is her swerving off the road to her death. This is not Hollywood stuff this is real life. There is no entertainment value in seeing someone die. If you say "Lisa would have wanted everybody to see this", you know you are full of crap

Excuse me - people see death in different ways and they grieve in different ways. This documentary was done tastefully and without disrespect. The family can do whatever they choose and if they felt like doing this, then they had every right to...they chose to share Lisa - not Left Eye, not whoever else the public may have seen her as - but Lisa to the world and they did it with tact; I don't think we have a right to judge Lisa's family's choice.

Your last memory of Lisa may have been of her swerving off a road to her death - mine isn't. I'll always remember her as an intelligent, energetic, sensual, spiritual, creative, ingenious and youthful human being. Those 50 or so minutes of footage will always stand out more in my mind and be with me than those 2-3 minutes of the tragedy. I don't see the documentary as tragic at all; I see it as a celebration of life. Yes, I teared up at the end and was very saddened and I missed her, but I believe that the whole project was something beautiful. I thank the family for even sharing this with us.

Yeah, her borther, Ronald said they did it the way Lisa would have wanted. I will always remember the video of her final seconds of life, but I will remember as an intelligent, flamboyant, and gorgeous person on the inside and out. Lisa probably would have wanted us to see her die, you mever know. miss_brightside77, said people see death in different ways, and to me death is interesting. When I saw the end of the doc I was hurt and scarred, but it made me want to think and learn why and how did she die, and stuff like that. And how did you get a DVD of it? Did you record it?

RIP Lisa Lefteye Lopes. Your legacy & spirit lives on.

I made a very high quality recording and made a DVD-9 out of it complete with menus. I even made a bonus section from the extra clips at the VH-1 site. I know how to author DVD's very well. I had to toss it in the trash because I felt bad when I was about to watch it again. I have no interest in seeing someone die in real life. I'll remember Lisa through her contributions

reply

Well that was a waste of time.
Did u watch it 1st b4 u expended all that energy 2 record it from tv plus bonus internet info, just to trash it? Time wasted !

I'm hearing a lot of people say that this documentary isn't what they were expecting. I'm a bit confused because what exactly were people expecting? The title almost speaks for itself. I agree with Miss Brightside. I was very sad to see the vehicle wreck at the end, but it was NOT my last memory of Lisa. If anything, I had hell of a lot more appreciation for her. People saw her as that crazy girl who burned down her boyfriend's house. This documentary definitely let people know a lot about the REAL Lisa. I'm not surprised that her family says this is what she would've wanted because Lefteye seems like she could've been that type of person. I think too many people are caught up in the way she died versus the progressions and changes she had made towards the end of her life; including her entire philosophy on life. I was actually happy towards the end of this documentary, because I felt that she had finally attained the level of spirituality that she always longed for.

The documentary wasn't supposed to entertain you, it was supposed to inform you and to help you learn about Lisa and her views on life.

Lisa made that documentary for a reason. Lisa wanted to show us, her fans, what her life was like, what she thought about life, she dipped into her past to try and understand why things that had happened, happened.

The scene at the end really wasn't that bad either. They could have shown more of the footage but they didn't. The documentary wasn't supposed to focus on the accident itself.

I see what you're saying and I can understand why you wanted to throw it out. I thought the documentary was beautiful and I watched it several times, though I find that last scene quite painful. The purpose was not to gloat over her death, just to show her for what she really was, scars and all. A lot of people feel like they understood her better. It ended with her death because that's where SHE ended. It was hard to watch but not graphic. I'm sure there's a lot worse footage from the accident.

okay for one, we didnt see her die, we saw the LAST moments of her life. the DVD wasnt garbage. during the time of her celebrity life, people were thinking all the wrong things about her, especially during the time she was with that guy that mistreated her. if she never did this personal document then none of us would have never gotten the last bits her personality. to me this documentary showed a side of her i never knew she had, and that was how STRONG she was. she believed that some spirit was after her, if i knew something was after me, i'd be in lockdown crying my heart out wondering who's behind me, whats in my food, why are the trees blowing etc. lol. but to me Lisa was just so unique, i'm glad they released it.

Well, im her sister and she wanted the world to see EVERYTHING she was documenting. She would have DEFINITELY wanted that footage in there. We cut the accident footage to right b4 impact and that wasn't Lisa screaming. I am very sorry you were hurt or offended by the footage, but that was not our intention. If we didn't release the footage, it would have been floating around on the internet by the camera men that shot it anyway. Even b4 we made the documentary deceased pics of Lisa were on the internet. People say that we shouldn't have put it in there, but if someone told you they had footage of Tupac when he got shot, your curiosity would be on edge until you saw it for yourself. If not you, then you are one of the rare ones. Sorry, did you at least enjoy any of it???
