Big Sigh

I'm not here to vent outrageously, but seriously this just seems like a market pick up, much like Hollywood bought out every comic book property. Anyway, thoughts anyone?

I'm very sad that they're doing this. I absolutely adore the UK version and can (and do!) quote it in its entirety. I think the actors they've chosen to replace Roy and Jen are going to be just awful. I guess I'll just have to rewatch those 6 wonderful episodes over and over again to get my fix. :\

Altho i dont think this will be as good as the series.
Id much rather have this than nothing at all.

I've gotta say Im an Australian who loves the original and I have mixed feelings about this.
I hated the US Office for using the same stories as the original so I really hope they don't do it with this. If we see the same Moss doing the same jokes, it just won't be right.
That being said, I love Joel McHale on The Soup, I think he's one of the funniest people currently on US TV, but I still don't think this will work.

As much as I don't care for the idea, as an American, I must say, it is very difficult to get quality, legal versions of the show without buying a PS2/3, or a DVD player from the UK. I'll welcome anything resembling the IT Crowd here on air.

I'm looking forward to see how it will turn out. Exec Producers include Graham Linehan, and Richard Ayoade will be in it, so there's some redeeming value. Just being able to see it on my own TV will be nice.

I'm sure it will be quite PC, relatively speaking. Denham and Roy are half the charm of the show, as well, so not having them in the US version will leave a gap. I heard something that Denham isn't even in season 2 of the UK version. Is that true? How'd they pull that off since the company everybody works for is his company?

I think that this will be terrible compared to the brilliant original. It just doesn't fit with American characters, IMHO.

I'm getting ready to put the UK version out on DVD through my company, so let's hope there's plenty of fans out there that feel the same way you do! Fingers crossed!!!

At least they kept Moss, but they've ruined almost every other part of it...i hope this wont be the tragic end of an excellent show by going with the 'spell out all the jokes, change the cast and try a new creative direction' approach, but they wouldnt ever be that stupid. Oh wait, I forgot The Office...
