Dagmar….

Of the Ironborn. Last time we see him & his merry men, he knocks Theon unconscious after Theon gives a long winded speech & it’s more than obvious that they betrayed him to save their own skins so the siege by Ramsay could be ended & everyone can go home.

The thing is I had a debate with a friend over what were the chances that Ramsay didn’t double cross Dagmar & his men & kill them all? This is something we don’t see of course but my friend & I had fun speculating about it though. It would serve them right I suppose, knowing Ramsay, he’d do something like that in a heartbeat.

Have the writers/producers ever elaborated on it any? Has Ineson ever commented on it? Or is it just left for us to assume, they turned him over & that was that? Asha would not be happy if she suspected her own people sold out Theon.

I haven't read the books and just rewatched the whole series. They were never mentioned again. But I assume that Ramsay would not just let them go. If they got lucky, they got a quick death. But highly possible they would have been flayed.

Maybe somebody who did indeed read the books would know more. But this board here is pretty dead.

They were flayed according to a letter Ramsay sent to Balon Greyjoy (along with Theon's favorite toy).

From the wiki (https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/Dagmer#In_the_books)

Show: After reading a letter from Ramsay, who is holding Theon prisoner, Balon and Yara learn that Dagmer and his men were betrayed and flayed alive by Ramsay and the soldiers of House Bolton. (See around 13:10 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfNIgnhfs90)

Book: Following the liberation of Deepwood Motte by Stannis's troops, Dagmer's garrison is the last ironborn force in the north that has not been captured or destroyed yet. Asha (Yara's name on the novels), while held captive by Stannis, offers to make Dagmer surrender (though she is uncertain Dagmer will obey her), but Stannis refuses, stating that Torrhen's Square is not worth the mud beneath his heels.

THANK YOU Philhelm! Was wondering about that & I didn’t even notice that scene where Balon mentioned that. Thanks for the info, good stuff.

On the show we see one of them flayed and assume the rest were as well.
