What was his story again? Got thrown out of a tower, became paralyzed, spent the next four seasons being carried around, then met an old guy in a tree and saw some past events. Yeah, I'm thinking there are many characters with better stories than that.
shareGendry had a MUCH better story! He'd have made a better king, too - the people would have loved the humble blacksmith who became king and never lost his common touch, and he'd have left all the ruling to people like Tyrion and Varys. King Gendry would have been a win for everyone.
shareEven Samwell had a better story than Bran. Those Bran scenes in the early seasons of the show were just awful. It actually did get a bit interesting in the Tree with the flashbacks, but then it immediately goes back to being awful for the remainder of the show.
shareI actually liked his arc. Getting kicked off the tower and paralysed was a shockingly tragic fate for a young boy, but then he gradually turns into an omnipotent deity with ultimate knowledge and wisdom, ironically making him the ideal ruler. It was a surprising yet inevitable fate.
That said, he doesn’t exactly have the common touch and is barely human anymore, which will make his meetings with his council of ministers quite awkward. Also, you never know when he’s watching you masturbate or take a shit. He could just sit there with a smile and you’d be paranoid wondering what his ravens have ‘seen’.
