Happy The Starks got best endings of The Finale

They are the best house in this series and didn't deserve the crap that happened to them especially with the death of Ned and The Red Wedding Long May Queen Sansa Reign

I disagree with you on both counts.

I couldn't possibly be happy with King Bran, and anyway Bronn got the best ending of anybody.

Bran deserves to be King really you trust that weasel to be master of coin eff him

It is difficult to appreciate the end for the Starks when so much of it was illogical and didn't fit in with the narrative of the show at all.

King Bran makes no sense, his character had no relationship with the "game of thrones". His character arc was always tied into the White Walkers and green seeing since the beginning of the show. And he ended up having very little to do with the conclusion of the White Walkers and his green seeing played even less of a role in the end.

Then Sansa being able to pull the North out when the last surviving Male heir of Ned Start was made king of the seven kingdoms? Why would the North value her more than Ned's male heir who was the rightful heir to the north anyway? On top of that, why wouldn't the other kingdoms bail out when they say all Sansa had to do was say, 'f' off little brother'.

Then Arya going on a Marco Pollo adventure and becoming Dora the explorer completely undermining her whole arc throughout the show.

Then Jon Snow just getting kicked back to the wall with his heritage meaning literally nothing in the end

God everytime I think about this show my brain hurts with all the stupid decisions that either made no sense or actively undermined the build up of the narrative and character arcs.

Agreed with all of that, all I can do is hope that George's final two books completely destroy what Dumb & Dumber were trying to do in Season 7 and 8: Completely illogical and out of character decisions made by key characters for the sake of shock value they couldn't do properly, and give us an actual, meaningful conclusion to this saga that has been kept unfinished by George for decades.

I don't know, I get the sense that more and more George never had a plan to close it all up and now he is boxed in. That is the problem with the 'gardener' style writing, the garden can get wild and out of control.

But anything will be better than what we got in season 8. If a majority of what propels the story forward is characters behaving out of character or smart characters starting to make nothing but dumb decisions you know there is a problem.

when it comes to meaning; that is the most frustrating element of the last season, nothing meant anything. Jon's parentage, the Azur ahih/lightbringer etc prophecy, Jon's resurection, The nature of the white walkers and the apparently opposing lord of light, Arya arc and the faceless assassins, the return of the dragons and magic in the realm, none of it, not one damn thing mattered to the actual conclusion we got. It was like even the characters were meta-telling the audience it was all for nothing. God, so damn frustrating.
