Cersei deserved a More Brutal Death From Arya

in the vein of these also it would've been justice for her screwing over Tyrion and The Starks not death by rubble

That was a zombified version of Cersei. The real one had died a while before that, just like every other character.

Agreed. Even if not by Arya, more painful and drawn out. I wanted her dead and I wanted it to HURT

This is what ruined Game of Thrones. This series used to disregard who "deserves" what. It was played like real history. People good or bad dies randomly. Just like real life. It was sincere and it was fantastic.

Then people demanded more "karma." That nothing bad should happen to their favorite characters and every horrible things should happen to the character they despised. This is fakery. There is no authenticity anymore. Game of Thrones became a fully generic tv series. A mere soap opera.

The series was great because there were enough unjust or pointless deaths to make everything seem incredibly real and gritty, but there were also some brilliant and dramatic comeuppances. My personal favorite was the last of Ramsey Bolton, was that great drama or what?

But the last two seasons were disastrous on that front, with Cersei's death being the most disappointing of all. No dramatic confrontation with her enemy, no revenges delivered personally, no satisfaction, the bitch even being comforted at the end, and taking Jamie with her instead of letting him break free! Arya should have killed her in front of Jamie, leaving Jamie free to agonize over whether to live without her.

cersei nearly destroyed the Stark Family by taking it out its figureheads she deserved comeuppance she has more crimes she shouuldve been killed by Arya not Rubble dont justify her

reply

Indeed. The worst example of this was 'The Long Night' episode which practically saved all the main and important characters
in a battle they were seemingly losing. Like they don't even lose a limb, or suffer any sort of life changing injuries either. They absolutely scrapped any sense of the realism they had before for death and the way it was portrayed and went full cliched belief-suspending soap opera. They might have somewhat got away with it had it been depicting in such a way that gave them a fighting chance but they didn't even try and hide it; most of these main and important characters were on the front line when the battle began and were later shown to be absolutely surrounded by wights with no chance of survival, or in Sam's case sitting down crying mid-battle.

Exactly! This is why movies are still held in higher regards than tv shows.

If GoT was a movie, they just can't change ways in the middle of it's runtime. Good or bad it's the result of the director's and producers' vision.

TV shows, on the other hand, succumb to the audience ratings and demands. Give it enough seasons, every tv show will end up as a soap opera.

Wow people in a movie forum totally agreed? Let us pat ourselves on the back together.

Well thanks for throwing that out there. I'm not that far yet. But I will relish to see Arya knock off Cersei. I love me some Arya, and Cersei is just a bitch.

Either Arya or Drogon should have taken out Cersei. If they weren't willing to give Ayra a second major spectacular kill at the very end, they should have let Danerys deliver the big "DRACARYS".

Imagine the scene... it's the battle of King's Landings, the Targaryan troops have broken through the gates and are fighting in the streets, the gold cloaks and red cloaks are throwing down their swords because they secretly loathe Cersei and don't want to die for her. And Danerys is above on the last dragon, but instead of pointlessly setting residential neighborhoods on fire while Cersei takes the air in plain view... Danerys flies straight up. Out of sight of the camera. Jon and Gray Worm look up, but they have to keep fighting. Cersei on her tower balcony looks up, and loses sight of her enemy.

And then she looks down, and sees the people in her courtyard pointing straight up. Before she can do anything, the dragon is seen flying straight down at her tower and drawing in his breath.. and there's just enough time for the two women to make eye contact and for Cersei to turn and try to run, before the dragon fire hits the tower! We get a nice gruesome closeup of Cersei burning and melting, and a closeup of a pile of greasy charcoal! We know that Danerys has definitely won the War of Five Kings and Two Queens, and that this is the big series finale!

Out in the city, Jon and Gray Worm see the tower fall and gracefully accept the surrender of their enemies. Jamie sees the tower fall, and falls to his knees, he pulls out his dagger and clearly contemplates suicide (camera cuts away). Arya curses and throws down her dagger, she wanted to be the one! Etc. And MAYBE THEN... Danerys doesn't stop, in a moment of absolute horror, she goes Mad Queen and has her dragon burn the heart of King's Landing, after she's already won!

Wouldn't' that have been more fun than Cersei and Jamie sniveling in a basement?

After all the cruelty we had to watch this bitch do? She seriously gets off that easy? That had to be one of the biggest rip-offs in the history of television.
