I'll stick with Lord of the Rings, thankyouverymuch
How GRR Martin even had the cheek to go up against the unassailable JRR Tolkien, I don't know. Besides, Jackson's trilogy is better by far than this boring politicking and R-rated violence CRAP.

One can love both.
GoT has lost its appeal for me. The last season saw to that. What's the point in watching a story in which the ending is totally rushed and trashed? New Life Rule for Me: Don't follow TV shows until they are completed.
Like I said on another thread, I dont know that I'll ever commit to watching a multi-year TV saga again. The disappointment of S8 was just so crushing.
But it was great while it lasted, wasnt it? Every week, looking forward to the new episode, being intrigued or surprised or flabergasted as it aired, and rushing to my computer to discuss it with the world while tg ge credits rolled. Some very good discussions, too, and for so long, the writing really held up to intense nitpicking. It was a great experience overall, but not one I'm likely to repeat.
you mean the one where the mighy orc army keeps losing to a bunch of dwarves?
shareAgree, LotR remains a classic and far superior to Game of Thrones, the less said about the Hobbit adaption the better.
shareI have not read the novels that GOT is based on, however I can say that the Lord of the Ring book was really good, the movies on the other hand were trash and I would much rather watch GOT than watch LOTR.
shareIf you mean the Hobbit movies, that's fine.
If you mean the LOTR movies, STFU.
Yes I mean the LOTR movie, I would much rather watch GOT.
share"That's fine"??? I didn't realize I had to run my opinion by you. Say what you will about the ending of GOT, I also thought it was rushed but at least they didn't go with the corny, cliched and predictable ending of "Jon Snow realizes that being king is who he is and he steps up to lead the people", blah, blah, blah like LOTR did.
