Most Emmy Noms Ever For Final Season
So much for backlash, most Emmy nominations for any show ever π

shareIf it wins anything for writing then the world has gone to sh.t.
shareThat happens a lot during Awards Season, voting bodies hold back a lot of big awards until the show or franchise is finished. Like when the last "Lord of the Rings" movie won all the Oscars, even though it was the worst in the series.
So theyre doing the sama thing with GoT, giving awards for the whole thing, once the final season is complete. Of course there would be a lot more nominations and wins, if the final season hadn't sucked.
ROTK was NOT the worst, all three LOTR movies are EQUAL in my eyes.
I respectfully disagree, and so does much of the fandom. Most fans think that "Fellowship" is the best, few agree with my love of "The Two Towers".
But "ROTK" is kind of a mess, too long and poorly edited, you can see Jackson starting to get carried away with stuff that he thinks is cool and letting scenes drag on too long, with nobody around to tell him to stop and get on with the story. "ROTK" is the movie where you can see the sloppy tendencies that ruined the "Hobbit" films starting to get develop, which doesn't ruin the movie as a whole, but it does make inferior to the tightly edited first two. But, it got all the awards, because Hollywood was awarding a successful and groundbreaking franchise as a whole.
You haven't mentioned what the "dragging scenes" are.
Oh honey, don't get me started. It's a very long movie, and has dozens of scenes that could have been done a bit better!
shareIf you don't provide evidence, I will denounce you as talking CRAP.
It's almost 3AM where I am, so all I can say is...
PJ thought Gimli sitting on a wounded orc was hilarious.
I agree with you Foebane72. The full LOTRs Trilogy is a masterpiece INCLUDING the extended editions. I see them as one complete film. I didn't want ROTK to end.
"and so does much of the fandom" - Where are your facts on this Otter?? I have been a HUGE fan of the films since they screened at the cinemas in 2001 and have followed forums and groups for years with most fans loving all films. I can agree with you that The Two Towers is my favourite of the 3, but to me all were excellently made.
You mean the "ax embedded in his nervous system" Orc? That was Two Towers, Extended.

The show was great. The acting was great. The costumes and music were great, etc.
People were just put out that the story didn't end the way they hoped it would.
....itβs not how it ended - itβs the writing & the rushing of the last two seasons to get to that ending. Thatβs what people are mad about.
shareYes, I hoped it wouldnβt suck.
shareThe only nominations I would disagree with are Alfie Allen for supporting actor and the best director for "The Long Night". Theon was only in two episodes (3 if your count on the funeral pyre). And he didn't have that many scenes or dialog.
And while The Long Night was a very multi layered and complicated episode to shot, you could barely see it, and at times it was hard to tell what was happening.
"The Long Night" was an incoherent mess, I cannot believe anyone nominated it for anything!
I'm on my phone and cant post links, but theres a video called "An Incoherent Rage" that points out all the flubs, inconsistencies, and ridiculous stuff. In detail.
I donβt get how Alfie Allen is nominated either, the only acting nomination I agree with is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who has been nothing short of incredible throughout the series and managed to elevate Season 8 whenever he was on screen.
