Does anyone know why...

Bran warged into the crow/s during the final battle against the White Walkers? It seemed like all he did was fly up into the clouds and go past the Night King riding his dragon, then nothing until he came back to his body as the Night King was approaching him to kill him. It didn’t seem like he had any motivation for doing that, other than maybe feeding his personal curiosity for where the Night King was because it didn’t seem like he used that information for anything or told it to anyone. Not that that information would even be useful in the first place as the Night King was continuously moving around. “Hey guys! I used my super powers and found out that the Night King is flying around somewhere beyond the clouds, so don’t worry we can easily defeat him with that incredibly useful information. I can even point toward the rough direction of where he was before he moved to wherever he is now!” I kept expecting something more to happen with him warging into the crows. As well as him using his warging powers more throughout the plot to aid in battles and whatnot. Like he could have taken control of enemy cavalry horses and make them throw their riders off, or use bears to attack them or something cool. I was sure that he was going to warg into a dragon at some point in the series and take out tons of the undead.

I don’t know what was going on there. Maybe he was trying to lure the NK to the godswood using the warged crows, but it was very unclear to me.

reply

No, he never did anything useful, it was probably included to give the little pest some screen time and because it looked cool.

Because that's the quality of decision-making that went into season 8.

He was checking to make sure all the pieces were in the right place for the night king to make it into the godswood, like what he told Theon and later Jon at the end. They were exactly where they were supposed to be.

reply

Funny how they could make time for Sam to be knocked down and surrounded five times, and not take time to show what Bran was doing.

The answer is not obvious to everyone but the clues have been given to us in season 8. By the end, the main point is that Bran won the game because he outplayed all other players. So, it is important to first understand how other players had played the game - not everything happens as they appear to be.
Do you like me to elaborate or you have already got it?

reply

He outplayed all the other players by growing a large set of eyebrows, and then warging into a bunch of crows for no reason?

reply

Not that I like to keep others in suspense to show off. I seriously doubted if anyone still cares to find a reasonable explanation that could align with the details. From your funny response and JunoItsBill's silence, I guess I was right about that --- most of the fans have lost their interest and moved on.

Have fun with your laser pointer.
