Does anyone feel like HBO left it too open?

Tyrion had a line with Jon in his cell where said something like “ask me again in ten years”.

The show ended with everyone (including the fan favourite supporting cast) on fairly happy terms, in good positions.

Even Dany’s death was left open-ended, since Drogon mysteriously flies away with her body - we’ve seen people resurrect from the dead millions of times over.

My overall impression is that HBO left the ending open, just in case they ever wanted to pick it up again (I’m sure all of the cast have had enough for now).

Of course. Why kill the cash-cow?

HBO can totally keep doing more seasons, without Dumb and Dumber as writers and directors.

- Arya heads west, encounters a new civilization, possibly the most advanced in all the world. They have been keeping an eye on things in not only Westeros, but in Essos as well, and prefer to keep their lands secret.

- Jon heads north, finds out what the Night King was doing with Craster's baby boys, he also encounters a new spiral, which indicates the need for the Wall still exists, the Night King's spirit has returned to his citadel where he begins rebuilding his forces.

- Drogon heads east, drops off Daenerys in Meereen, where she is resurrected by the Red Woman who was in Meereen a couple seasons ago. The Red Woman tells her that she has a great purpose still. Daario keeps watch over her. While she has been absent, Daario's forces have maintained garrisons in Meereen, Yunkai, and Astapor.

- Gendry heads south, and finally we get to see the Stormlands, after hearing about them so much. The Baratheon family line is restored, and his quest to rebuild his broken family begins.

Plenty of potential for more fun and stories.

It would be easy for them to come up with villains; they could just introduce somebody and say that they are the son or daughter of so and so, whichever deceased character they choose. Not saying it’s a good route to go, but I am just saying that it would be really easy to do
