Only thing you like about the finale?

For me it would be Brienne finishing Jamie's story in the White Book, thats about it and far from redeeming the entire episode.

That was a great scene.

Jon and Ghost reuniting.

The opening scene of Tyrion walking through the rubble of the city and then finding Jaime and Cersei.

Davos had one funny line: "I'm not sure I get a vote, but Aye."

That's about it. Slim pickins.

reply

Hah! I seriously thought Davos said
“I’m not sure I give a f***k, but aye.”

Which pretty much summed up how I felt about the whole situation at that point.

Also, I’d go with the Brienne scene too.

reply

“Uncle. Sit down.”

reply

Ok, that wasn’t my favorite...

I think it was Tormund’s silence.

reply

Yes that was my favourite bit too. It was touching, and there should have been more touching moments. The goodbyes between Jon and the sisters didn't really do much for me, in that respect.

reply

Dany’s black Leather dress.

reply

Now was she authorized to do that?! LOL! Just wondering.

reply

I read somewhere that she is now the commander of the Gold Cloaks. So she's now in charge of keeping the history of the knights.

reply

-Drogon showing affection for his dead mother
-Jon Reunited with and petting Ghost
-Tyrion survived and still has power

reply

Actually I honestly felt like there was an uptick in solidly written dialog in this episode. While I disagree with the direction they went, it was nice to see strong character discussions again. Tyrion had some good lines, and unlike other episodes his character's decision made sense. While I HATED the cliche of stabbing Danny while they kissed, her speech to him was good at summarizing why Jon had to do what he did.

reply

Yes, I liked the Brienne scene, too.

I also liked what I thought would be the final scene...the newly (but not fully) reconstituted small council discussing what to do now, rebuilding and such. The camera then starts to pull back, and I thought, that's it, a good ending.

Bronn and Davos. Now that Bronn has all the wealth he would ever want, he doesn't want to spend it on anything except maybe more brothels.

reply

Bronn is actually a great choice for master of coin. Remember in season 2 he didn't understand the concept of borrowing money and paying back with interest. For him life was always a matter of if you want something buy it with the money you have. If you don't have the money either you don't get it. If only real politicians thought like this.

reply

Kinda like Trading Places, where Eddie Murphy's character first learned about the futures exchange. He was like aww damn, that's legalized gambling.
