Second last shot: Bran is sitting in the dark all alone with his eyes shut. The camera focuses on his wrist. We see the mark left by the Night King has traveled up his arm. His eyes open and they are glowing blue.
Final shot: Jon and Tormund are riding through the forest North of the wall. They come into a clearing and there is another one of those huge spirals of corpses lying in front of them. Screen goes black and credits roll.
WhyNotWriteMe, I think you're being FAR too harsh with the finale, it's like you WANT a negative ending and room for a further series. Why? Consider the story done and wrapped. The cast had their wrap party a while ago, and they're all moving on to other things. Accept it.
Hmmm a bit obvious maybe, although I did wonder when Jon and the wildlings came out of The Wall whether there would be a final twist to do with the NK.
I think they could have made the finale a bit more touching. We had a couple of moments with Brienne writing for Jaime, and Tyrion seeing his dead siblings, but other than that there wasn't enough.
i was semi expecting them to find a new ww symbol left for them north of the wall
