People love to bash the endings of popular series.

Sometimes its justified, like with Lost. I think this is one case where it's not. Dany destroying King's Landing was one major complaint I've noticed coming up a lot, for example, even though they'd been more than hinting that she was capable of doing something like that for about a season and a half. Varys and Tyrion were really struggling to convince her to find another way.

Whatever they did, I don't think it would have been super epically amazing for most viewers. They all have their own ideas about how it should have ended.

About the only big series finale I can think of that had most of its viewers saying, eh, that wasn't terrible was Breaking Bad, going back to my childhood and MASH.

Of course they do. Even every prediction ending got bashed on here and on other media sites. There isn’t ever going to be one ending that pleases everyone.

I am at peace with this ending. The Starks won. This show started with the Starks and ended with them. Ned’s death and the Red wedding deaths were avenged, 10x over. Ned didn’t want the Iron Throne for Jon and sent him to the Nights Watch, probably so he’d never marry and make more crazy Targaryans. It’s about as good tying up of loose ends as can be expected.

Totally agree. The surviving characters ended up with fitting ends to their storylines.

Agreed.

The biggest problem, as I see it, is that the showrunners should've taken a full season to wrap things up so that the story didn't feel so rushed. But other than that, I am okay with it. I can't personally think how I would do it any better.

The thing about Dany is that there has always been something a little off-putting to her, and there has always seemed to be a cruel streak somewhere inside her, like when she chose to crucify the slavers all those years ago instead of choosing a more humane form of execution. You could argue that those men were getting what they deserved, but it still shows that Dany can be merciless when she thinks that she has right on her side.

Stupid ending...especially council/water bottle scene...both Dorn and the Iron Isles would’ve gone independent the second Sansa said the north was.

Also, the con-job of Greyworm should’ve been on panel at the council meeting, not just an explanation from Tyrion to Jon in his cell.

Speaking if Tyrion, whats up with him marching right into the ruins and almost immediately finding the not-so-crushed remains of his brother and sister???

This was by far the worst series finale in the history of finales.
