It's over. Now Let's hear all of the bitching.

I swear it is hysterical logging onto this site after an episode of GOT just to listen to people whine about it.

I thought it was a decent finish. Was hoping for a little more carnage, but they wrapped it all up well enough.

All you losers can start setting up your petitions now because of how "awful" and "pathetic" it was, lol.

This season never had a chance. People on this site are so hooked on GRRM's balls they never would have liked anything that was done after the books anyway. Let them be miserable.

The only season I wasn't a big fan of was season 5, until the very end. As for everything else...bravo! I have really enjoyed the show over the years. One of my all time favorites!

reply

The episode was really stupid and nonsensical and I liked the previous episodes.

reply

There we go, good job.

reply

It sucked and so does your troll post.

reply

So anyone who didn't hate the last episode is a "troll." Got it.

Wonder when that word will finally go out of style. It's hung on for far too long.

Troll: "Anyone who disagrees with me on the internet."

reply

Troll: "Anyone who disagrees with me is a 'bitching, whining loser' who is 'hooked on GRRM's balls'."

reply

Nope, just my opinion.

Much like GOT, get over it and move on with your life.

reply

That's rich considering anyone that took part in the petition is considered a loser to you. You dont get to he the victim here buddy.

reply

I don't consider myself a millennial or on the extreme left, so the last thing I want to be considered is a victim.

Much like Jon Snow talking about The Iron Throne..."I dun't won't it."

Maybe "loser" is too much for people I don't actually know, because I hate generalizations, but I do stand by my comment saying I think it is pathetic and laughable to sign a petition to remake any season of a show. That's way too much and pretty sad in my opinion.

Have a good day.

reply

My biggest complaint is the same as it has been all season. But magnified even for the finale.
The pace was way too fast. They jumped from one event to the next with no chance to build tension and flesh anything out.
This entire season would've benefited greatly by being at least 2 full seasons.

reply

Yep. Their mad rush to get to the end in 6 episodes is what caused the most problems.

reply

I noticed after a few days and I watch an episode again, I pick up more from it than what I got the first time. The earlier seasons might have a big scene every 1 or 2 episodes and 2 big episodes. Since the battle of the bastards episode, it seems like almost every scene is significant. They put so much in these later episodes, people get overloaded and don't really know how to react at first.

Haven't seen so much whining and bitching concentrated only in three sentences, in a while... XD

reply

I think you have your definitions of bitching and whining out of whack.

I'm hear to read and enjoy.

reply

At least they’re discussing the actual show, not pointlessly whining about fans of the show

reply

That's for pointing out what people are allowed to and not allowed to discuss with relation to the show.

I'm not whining about it, I genuinely get a kick out of these people. I log into the site after each episode just to look at how upset people are. It's hilarious. I knew before the finale even aired that people would be all over it and rip it to shreads, just to be all over it. I couldn't imagine watching something that pissed me off so much. The nitpicking has become historically laughable.

Most people I've talked to thought the finale was decent. Nothing amazing, but serviceable.

Here's an idea. Write your own show, and then you can end it any way you'd like.

reply

Here's a new complaint: It seemed like the War Between the Living and the Dead had absolutely nothing to do with the War of Two Queens, and that the writers were far less interested in saving humanity from the dead than burning King's Landing.

And it would have taken SO little extra time to link the two together, and to make it clear that saving humanity from the others sent Dany's ego spiraling out of control, and provided the moment she went over the edge, and that she lost any concern for the citizens of Westeros because they didn't appreciate her saviorness. But they didn't, except to have Tyrion mention it after the fact. And it seemed like the cataclysmic events at Winterfell were not just a letdown, but unimportant to both the people of Westeros and the people in the writer's room.

reply

But didn't you always realize that the main battle was going to be for the Iron Throne?

The battle with dead was the most important for the survival of mankind, but the show was always about the Iron Throne. I knew they would get passed the army of the dead in an episode or two at most, and the final episodes would be for the throne.

This has been rushed, there is no doubt about that, but even with the pacing, I was very entertained by the season.

I am speaking as a fan of the show. I haven't read the books, and I'm not comparing this show to anything in particular. I'm looking for entertainment value, and I thought they did a great job. There was literally nothing they could have done that would have pleased everyone. They went fairly safe with everything, but overall I thought they closed it out well...a little more quietly than I was expecting, and with less carnage than I was anticipating, but I thought overall it was well done.

People are free to disagree, as am I with them. That's why I like these message boards. I like to discuss movies/television.

I think people are getting laughably upset about this show and magnifying every little detail towards the negative, much like most things on the internet. I think they are a joke. Anyone else is more than free to feel otherwise.

I loved this show, and I was not at all disappointed by this final season. That doesn't mean it was perfect, but it worked for me as an ending.

reply

You know, I kind of thought that the survival of every living thing on Westeros would be treated as a smidge more important than the enternal struggle for power. Both by the characters, and by the writers' room.

Because people are always fighting over power in Westeros, always have, always will. The War of Five Kings and Two Queens is just a blip in history. But the Long Night only happens every few millenia, and endangers the survival of everything when it happens. I really hated that it was resolved with the cheesy cliché of killing the head vampire, and hated that it was treated as unimportant by the characters on the screen.

reply

There would be absolutely no way to win if there wasn't a "killing of the head vampire" scenario.

The Knight King constantly brought every person killed by the dead army into the dead army. There would absolutely no way to beat that army if that situation wasn't in place. The dead army would just recycle until there was no living left, and the show would have ended there, and the knight king would have went and wiped out Cersi's army, and that would be that for the show.

You may have enjoyed that, but The Knight King vs. Cersi wasn't the finish I would have hoped for, and there would be a whole other group of fans complaining about that.

And how did the characters treat that fight as unimportant? They had a huge funeral, with a great speech from Jon, and had a huge celebration after the battle was won.

What else were they supposed to do? The battle was over. The next target was Cersi.

reply

"There would be absolutely no way to win if there wasn't a "killing of the head vampire" scenario. "

Certainly there was no other way to win within one episode! But if they'd devoted half a season or a whole season to it, maybe there would have been another way. Ah well, it wasn't done.

And no, I didn't say the characters in the story didn't treat TWBtLatD as unimportant, but the writers' room did. But then, with only six episodes for tons of story, they gave short shift to, well, everything.

reply

Sut, I think the way you expressed yourself here was intelligent, and articulate.. But you started out on this post being kind of mean spirited. Once that stopped, I was able to appreciate your words. You have good insight into the show. People can listen and converse better and clearer without being confrontational.
Yes, some people dont like the ending, it was rushed, the writing not up to par, but overall GOT was one of the biggest successes of the decade. It was amazing in such a grand scale, that , in the end, when it fell short , it was a let down in a sense. It was for me, speaking for myself, but yet I loved the seasons, the story and the characters.
