Don't work for spammers, son. It's beneath you.

reply

How am I spamming, I just found out about it. Lord of the Rings is Worshiped, I want this awesome cultural phenomenon show to get the ending it deserves.

reply

Them petitions are mail address harvesters.

reply

Power of the fans regardless of politics, we all enjoy it, this isn't a campaign for socialist to take over, relax

reply

Regardless, the existence of this petition made me laugh loudly enough to frighten the cat.

reply

Trade war with China, close to war with Iran... and your panties are in a wad over a TV show.... Truly sad.

reply

Uh Yes, We all know the world sucks

reply

Are there elections then? Because not much else to do against it otherwise, don't you agree?

reply

And GoT is already finished and one, so not much can be done about that either... You could waste your time signing a petition against the trade war and while it would have the same impact as the petition for GoTs at the very least it would be for something that actually mattered.

250k , crazy

reply

Just this morning I heard the news on my local radio station that it was on half million. :O

reply

it was 700k last night

reply

945,530 at this moment. 😮

I think by tomorrow it will be 1 million. I wonder how much it will be in total in the end.

And imagine if that amount of people signed the petition for something important. 😂

reply

well wasn't it hbo who rushed things and it seems everyone is to blame because they were making money

reply

I’m not sure who rushed things. I mean HBO has been known to shorten episode numbers on the shows they plan to cancel or if the show was on its last season. For example I will never forgive them ruining Boardwalk Empire, they reduced the number of episodes and ruined the ending for me. :(

But on GOT boards I noticed some people were saying that it wasn’t actually HBO that wanted to rush things, on the contrary they wanted 2-3 more seasons. That it was in fact D&D who rushed it because they want to do some other projects (something about Star Wars).

I don’t know if that is a fact or just a rumor.

Myself I was also disappointed with season 8 of GOT, not sure if I would be interested in the re-shoot of the last season though.

Think I will sign the petition nevertheless. Just for fun. :)

reply

this reminds me of that TLJ remake Petition. that Petition went nowhere. lol

reply

Oh no, the email addresses where harvested and put to use alright.

reply

Same thing with Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Heath Ledger. Those petitions went nowhere and Ben Affleck was still Batman in BvS and Justice League, Gal Gadot still got to be Wonder Woman and she changed a lot of minds and had people regretting they were against her being cast as Wonder Woman, and Heath Ledger still went on to be The Joker in The Dark Knight. Plus Heath Ledger pretty much did what Gal Gadot did, only multiply that by 10 and throw in winning an Oscar. These petitions are pointless and stupid. Only time I have ever seen petitions go somewhere is if they were made by the people making something themselves. But they were video game related. Rockstar put out a petition to make a PC version of GTA V and the developers of Dark Souls put out a petition to bring the game to PC. If those two petitions got a certain amount of signatures, the games would be made for PC. They got the signatures and now Dark Souls and GTA V have PC versions. But other than that, I don't see petitions ever doing something. They are just pointless and stupid.

The remake will be the future GRRM books.

reply

I signed the petition solely to help push it to a million signatures.

If it hits a million, I'm going to laugh hysterically at the fandom kerfuffle!

reply

I am one of the seemingly few people who feels that while season 8 has been terrible (Honestly GOT hasn't been great for years) but also thinks this petition is dumb and sad. Dumb because at the end of the day it's just a stupid fantasy tv show. Sad because there are serious real life socio economic, environmental, and geopolitical crises going on that could never galvanize a million person signed petition in such a short time.
