Barely give a crap about the finale

What a shame, wasted opportunities galore...

reply

Yeah but you’ll still watch it!

reply

Well I'll watch it! By the time I realized the show had gone to hell in a handbasket there were only three episodes left, and well, I want to see what kind of ending they were shooting for and failing to achieve. Maybe someday I'll appreciate what they were trying to do, if not what they actually put on film.

Or I'll go over to The Dark Side, and hate-watch.

reply

same thing that happened to STAR WARS

reply

Will you watch it?

reply

The evil clown movie? No.

reply

Why not?
It's got to be at least as believable as dragons

reply

Fair enough!

reply

Yes, but after ...

the two slow openers (waste of time, we already know the characters),
the illogically tactical[less] battle of Winterfell,
the lack of intelligent script writing and dumbing down of characters and their carefully-created arcs,
The lack of twists and political scheming

...I am too depressed to care.

reply

It’s crazy isn’t it?...

A massive show that went from such high anticipation, before season 8 started.
All the way down to - Many people hardly giving a shit anymore about what happens to whom..

I honestly can’t think of another example that even comes close to this. A hit show that was a multicultural phenomenon. A show that was riding so high both with fans & critics alike... Then falling so-so hard on its face...Just within a matter of episodes.

reply

The even more amazing thing is that they took an extra long time developing an even small number of episodes and managed to completely waste their time in the process... I remember when season 7 ended there was a supposed leak of the final season which turns out to have been complete BS and was nothing but fan fiction... but in hindsight these stupid showrunners would have been better of hiring the person that wrote the fan fiction than this garbage... at least it had a better ending with Dany and Jon having a kid, Dany dying in childbirth, Jon getting killed and the show ending with Tyrion and the others left alive raising the baby to take over the Iron Throne when he came of age... Much better ending than where this is headed.

reply

Dany is barren. Prithee, what was the genius fan’s explanation for her pregnancy? Fetus implant?

reply

Witch lied

reply

If the witch lied, then why did Dany give birth to some hideous creature that was blackened, scaly and sickly (from what I remember)? Maybe all her future births would've been the same way? Witches' curses appear to have merit in Westeros, I mean, look at Cersei and her children.

reply

The witch fucked up her child after fucking up Khal Drogo

reply

Yeah, I know, but I think it was a one-off. Any future pregnancies would've been fine.

reply

Lost comes to mind, honestly :/

reply

It's kinda like The Simpsons after season 9/10, but it probably took a lot longer for people to stop giving a shit after that point.

reply

Yes, yes..so much wasted and I'm frustrated at all the missed opportunity to truly develop the remainder of these characters and their stories properly..
But I still care what happens.

I didn't realise that D&D had run out of book material by the end of Season 4, and were just making things up as they went along from then on. Despite the odd plothole like Arya surviving her stabbing, I thought Seasons 5-7 were quite good, but it was obviously in S8E3 that D&D fumbled the ball and the show became a joke. But I'm hoping they'll be able to "redo" that last season at some point, and I will see the last episode as I have devoted eight whole years to the show, with Blu-ray purchases and everything.

I only pray that Bran doesn't sit on the Iron Throne, because then I WILL demand a remake of S8.

reply

I can't look at D&D without thinking it means Dumb & Dumber now. They really messed things up in this final season.

reply

You can tell, they cocked the show up with retarded writing and dumbing down.
