So Jon isn't one of the main heroes?

They dumbed him down and made him nearly lose the BotB. In Winterfell battle he doesn't do anything.

reply

True. I guess they did this to surprise.

Jon sounded more like Homer Simpson in some of the meetings they had in episode 8 01 and 8 02. In answer to why they should allow Jaime to join them Jon says: "Uh... We need all dah men we can get."

In modern media, the only roles for men are sinister, oppressive villains (Euron, Tywin, Stannis), sensitive emasculated helpers Tyrion and Sam (emasculated by height and weight) Jaime and The Hound (emasculated by injury and psychology) Onion Knight (emasculated by age) and Varys, Greyworm, Theon (emasculated literally) or hapless morons like Gendry and Tormund. Jon is now being altered to follow the hapless moron route. They had to kill off Jora and Beric as they were the only fully masculine heroes left.

reply

I hadn't thought of that. there's definitely a pattern.

reply

What roles are left for the women?

Cersei - Big Bad villain, Sansa and Missendai - helpless victim, Brienne - hapless moron, Danaerys - entitled autocrat who needs men to save her (i.e. Jorah), or Arya - psycho killer.

reply

Jon won back Winterfell.

He was also the one who assembled the army to take on the White Walkers.

The Night King would have taken over Winterfell long before Arya had a chance to kill him had it not been for the army.
