Unleash The Mountain!

I read on another thread here that there is a theory the Night King will split his army and send some of them to take Kings Landing. This would be a pretty cool idea and actually makes sense as we didn’t see him at the end of Ep 2 S8.

I would love to see The Zombie Mountain in full on combat mode. To see him slaughter some white walkers would be just too cool! He’d need his Valerian steel of course. Either that or he would just rip them to shreds with his bare hands.

He’s been very quiet lately protecting the Queen, we need to see some Mountain action! Unleash The Zombie Mountain! lol

We know the Night King wants to get Bran. I suspect he's around. If he kills him though, the army of the dead may break off the attack without bothering to finish off Winterfell. Or he could detach part of his army to keep Winterfell occupied so Jon and his people can't interfere while the rest of them head south.

Remember when The Hound told his brother he knew who was coming for him, he's always known? What if the Night King could take control of The Mountain away from Cersei? He might go berserk and start slaughtering the Lannister soldiers. Talk about unleashing him. That would be one bloody rampage!

I didn’t think of that, yes it sure would.

The Hound has to be the one who kills The Mountain. I don't mind if he dies doing it, but it has to be The Hound. I'll be so POed if The Hound dies in the battle on Sunday.

Yes The Hound vs The Mountain would be awesome.

Honestly I was once interested in a Clegane brother showdown but with the Hound being increasingly nerfed throughout the series culminating in getting his ass kicked & nearly killed by the unstoppable Brienne and the Mountain becoming a mindless Frankenstein like servant has kind of ruined the luster of the hypothetical showdown.

At this point it would just feel totally forced. The worst kind of cheap, pandering fanservice

I thought it might be The Hound, but what about Jon? The Mountain murdered his half-siblings.

reply

Yes, but Jon never even knew them. The Mountain held The Hound's face in the fire when they were children. The Hound's need for vengeance is more immediate.

I think when the Hound saw him last time, he realized what had been done to his brother was much worse than anything he could do. Putting him down would be an act of mercy.
