He's just prepared for the inevitable..No matter how it ends there will be those that will tear it apart and from his perspective everyone put their heart and soul into it... so what do you do.?
Satisfying endings are always the toughest. You can't please everyone..

Because they cared about the characters. Because they cared about the story. Because they cared about not letting people down.

Um.... clearly not everyone did. I'm sure the actors and crew all did. But the writers/show runners definitely did not, as they've rushed the shit out of seasons 7 and 8x1.

I really hate when actors feel the need to kiss ass to stay in the business. I have lost some respect for him now.
