Bronn killing Tyrion and Jamie? What a cheap twist

Season 8 is rushed. This show is best left midway season 6 or so. It has gotten BAD.

reply

I can't see him actually doing it.

reply

Never happen. Just a cheap excuse to send Bronn to the North because Flynn and Headey can't work together.

reply

Never happen? Then that's what'll happen! They need those stunts to make it look a bit smart again, all the while showing a sore lack of juggling skills.

reply

Coleburg, I think you hit the nail on the head...this was just a way to get Bronn involved in what is going on in the north. I don't think he'll kill either of her brothers.

reply

Whats weird to me is there is a whole house of assassins off in Braavos, that are clearly known, and are apparently really really good at killing your enemies, yet none of the main characters have ever actually used them, or even hinted at them as an option.

Instead they go to the friends of the people you want to kill??? Seems like a bad way to get someone killed.

reply

It's a great way to disenchant fans though.

reply

Well, we already know how incompetent the Faceless Men are based on Arya's experiences, who wants to hire them?

reply

too expensive!

reply

They can't be that expensive. A step above street actor was able to purchase them to take out another competitor actor.

Right, but Cersi just bought an entire army of mercenaries. Money at this moment isn't really an issue. If she can't afford them, then there is hardly anyone in the world that could. It would just be nice if the show writers acknowledge this "elite" group of assassins since they have been built up to be some of the best.

reply

The Faceless Men do assassinations for hire, but there's a lot more to them than that. They offer painless euthanasia to the terminally ill too. Everyone's got bills to pay. All the work they do is to support their huge underground temple of faces. And they supposedly built the city of Braavos, there's still a lot viewers don't know about their organization and its overall goals.

When Sansa asked Littlefinger about them, he said he only knew them by reputation, they worshipped the god of death (his tone sounded like yikes, those guys!). Cersei has no moral compass whatsoever. Their reputation wouldn't be a deterrent. If she doesn't want to hire them it could be she simply doesn't trust them; either that, or I'm not sure the Faceless Men will contract to kill ten thousand of your enemies instead of one, which is the sort of thing Cersei needs.

Bronn is just an expendable asset she can afford to pay off. He can probably handle putting a crossbow bolt in someone's back, right? Most of the people up north are probably going to die anyway. So his services may not even be needed. I don't think he wants to hang around in King's Landing anymore, since Cersei has become even crazier than Joffrey. This hands him an excuse to take off without it looking suspicious. I think he's going to take the gold and then defect to the other side when he gets up there.

reply

This is one case where it really does make more sense to send Bronn than a faceless assassin, he's palled around with Tyrion and Jamie for years and can get closer than any stranger. They both have so much fun with him that they tend to forget that he'll do anything for money.

There's a chance that Tyrion will remember how Bronn behaved during his trial for regicide, but he has so many other things on his mind (including a lot of wine) that it's not guaranteed.

reply

Bronn is the perfect choice. He can get close to both of them, and before killing them he can get intel on what is going on in the North, and whether they have any chance against the army of the dead.

Or how about this crazy idea. Hire a faceless man. Have him kill Bronn and take his face. Then fake Bronn can go to Winterfell and kill her brothers.

reply

Right, and this way you also get rid of any potential of Bronn backing out of the killing, which, in all honesty seems very likely.

The price is always high or dear, but within the means of the person if they are willing to make the sacrifice. The cost of their services also depends on the prominence and security of the target
