Trying to make Sansa smart... (spoilers)

Who are they kidding?

She married freaking Ramsay Bolton because Littlefinger uttered two sentences. Tired of hearing that shit.

reply

Also didn't tell Jon about the Knights of the Vale while simultaneously arguing for him to delay his attack. I don't like show Sansa at all.

reply

Yes. That's another thing that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

It amazes me how these writers want to elevate Sansa and continue to make Tyrion look like an idiot to build up other characters. Oberyn, Grey Worm/Missandei, Dany, now Sansa.

reply

She might be a slow learner, but she does learn.

reply

Slow learners are not the smartest people whom you will ever meet. Trying to present Sansa as the sharpest card in the deck is laughably (with a snort) preposterous. It’s like calling Sam “svelt.”

reply

It makes Arya, who came up with the line about Ssnsa being 'the smartest person I ever met', a bigger idiot by extension.

Also, it was only a couple of seasons ago that Sansa was snootily dismissing Davos and the families she needed to build alliances with, whilst the supposedly less intelligent on was advocating a much more diplomatic approach to winning their support.

reply

It's Weiss and Benioff pandering to the girly feminists in the audience.

It's this new post-third wave stream of feminism that says traditional 'girly' pursuits, like hair and makeup, can be as intellectual and as worthwhile as STEM and academic pursuits. The irony is that it is anathema to the wholly worthwhile attempt to get more women into STEM and other traditionally male-dominated careers.

It basically amounts to female supremacy (i.e. the idea that whatever a woman does is naturally superior to whatever a man does, through sheer dint of her gender) which is in sad contrast to previous waves of feminism which were, rightly, all about equality and treating the genders as if one was no better than the other.

But the reality is that Sansa was portrayed as a bit of an idiot in the books.

reply

Far less stupid in the books than the show. She wouldn't have married Ramsay Bolton, that's for sure.

Is astounds me how Littlefinger is supposed to be this genius in the books, but he's always bragging and telling Sansa all his plans. It's so ridiculous.

reply

That's not an easy task considering this constant Brit cow stupid look on Sophie Turner's face.

reply

Wow, you guys are brutal... heh
