Incest, Animal Cruelty, Rape, Homosexuality, Child molestation...

You have got to be some special type of person to enjoy a show like this.

For me it's the constant full frontal female nudity.

reply

What season are you on..?
There hasn't been constant female nudity since season 1 or 2..Hardly any nudity at all since then, in fact.

reply

What about Cersie's walk of shame in S5, Mellisandra (red woman) in S7E2 before she goes to bed naked?
Or in S6 in the play where we get an extreme close up of one of the actor's private parts?

Incest, Animal Cruelty, Rape, Homosexuality, Child molestation...
Sure, but not all of the show is that light-hearted.

reply

you forgot the eye gouging and skull crushing and shooting people at close range with a crossbow.
This would have been very disturbing stuff 20 years ago, but now people are used to it.

reply

I love it.

reply

I always hid my eyes if I even suspected something was about to happen to an animal..
And I can't remember much along the lines of them showing rape or child molestation unless you're referring to Sansa. And that was mostly implied.

Please don’t feed the troll, my friend.

Gee willikers, OP troll guy, who I doubt has seen one episode of GOT, I’ve been watching it for the interpersonal relationships and the political machinations of the narrative. As you know, Game of Thrones was pitched as The Lord of the Rings meets The Sopranos. You do know that, right? Well, of course you do. Silly me. I’ve overlooked so much that is substantial and that matters in this series, while you have apprehended everything.

Are you Kev from Shameless? You’ve the same intellect and cultural comprehension.

Not for nothing, Kev, the child molestation is in the books, not in the HBO series.

Note bene for Roxie: I admit that Sansa was raped in a manner I will not describe; but she was not a child. She was post-adolescent, and Ramsey was a demon. I am in no way defending the act. I am, though, rejecting the OP’s alleged argument. Nor can I recall a single incident of animal cruelty, other than perhaps to dragons, who aren’t, you know, real. Hogwash.

My friends who work in the local ER and ICU all love it, and say everyone at work loves it too!

Me, I've warned people of a sensitive disposition away from the show. "You wouldn't like it", I say. "No, really, you would NOT like it, it's pretty rough".

reply

Never wanted to watch this series until now. Thought it was about wizards fairies and dungeon and dragon dorks. After reading your post, I feel so stupid for judging a book by its cover. Well looks like i have a lot of catching up to do!

reply

I caught up with it on HBO Go and was able to fast forward all the pandering/lowest common denominator filler garbage.
There actually is a good story hidden under all that stuff.
