Dvd looks better than blu ray to me

Is it just because I'm watching on a small screen (22 inch) or what

reply

Don't you start.

reply

Excuse me?

reply

OK, I'll bite... (only trolls say that DVD is better than Blu-ray)

What type is your TV? CRT?

reply

It's only a 22" screen tv

I guess the bluray does look better but it seemed darker why I think I said that

reply

You didn't answer my question, I'm not interested in the size of it. Is it a big bulky box TV or a thin screen?

If it's a big bulky box type, then DVD will certainly look better on it, as that's what it was designed for. But DVD looks horrible on a thin screen, as the latter has much higher resolution capability, and they never upscale the image correctly.

reply

It's a flatscreen

reply

That answer doesn't help, I've seen big bulky box TVs with flatscreens.

reply

It's a lcd or led (can't remember) thin modern flats reen, with built-in dvd

I play bluray off xbox1 or ps3

I've seen DVDs that look so good on an HDTV that you could've told me they were Blu-Rays and I would've believed you. I think it all depends on the uprezzing capabilities of your player.

I have a Blu-Ray player but when I rent from Redbox I always rent the DVD for this very reason. They look good enough on my TV that it's just not worth paying more. If I'm buying a movie to own it, sure, I'll buy the Blu-Ray. But otherwise, DVD is just fine.
