I really think they are waiting too long between seasons.

I used to be so eager to see the next season, but at this point, I don't even really care if it ever airs. My anticipation wore off around June this year.

I'd almost fully agree with you. Although I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't still looking forward to it, there's no doubt that the momentum has slowed down to an infantile crawl. I agree, way too long of a gap.

reply

Totally agree. Especially for just six episodes. I'm not sure if it's worth picking HBO back up for that. My anticipation has certainly died down.

reply

I agree as well. The last couple of seasons had some great moments, but they weren't as captivating as the first few. Now waiting so long for the last little bit I'm kinda meh.

Maybe it was just to give viewers the same frustration as those who have been waiting for the last books to come out? (yes this is sarcasm)

reply

Agreed.

Funny thing about this show... when new episodes air I'm always desperate to find out what happens next, but I dont have that much desire to go back and watch reruns or DVDs. If I'm not alone in that, then they're making a mistake by waiting that extra year, and letting fan enthusiasm die down.

But not a huge mistake. At this point the show has paid for itself, and they're not going to cancel it if the ratings drop a bit. They're going to air the final season no matter what.

Quite an easy answer: The show was great until they ran out of books to follow. The producers then let some TV writers make up the later seasons. Since those seasons are boring the anticipation for new ones is less.

And as for the long wait between seasons?

-That's just circumsolar orbit of the known world

reply

Had the same feeling before the last season..
but then the first trailer came along and bam
hyper was reborn, my interest in the universe was back.
also guys, Prepare for CLEGANEBOWL

reply

With all else going on, I haven't even thought of Clegane VS Clegane... and the Hound has always been one of my favorites. Good call.

reply

And yet all of you hypocrites will be glued to the TV once again as soon as the next, final, season starts.
Good things take time. While GoT suffered since the book-material ran out, it is still a great show.
Instead of bathing in your entitled first world issue that a great TV show is taking too long to return, appreciate it exists in the first place.

This wait is simply obnoxious
About 5 1/2 months to go to the end-game
It is ridiculous
