Why not solve the problem with marriage

Prior to leaving Mereen she mentions that she is leaving Daareo so he does not stand in her way of a possible marriage in Westeros. Now, we know that she nor Jon is aware of their relation, but they seem to trust each other and like each other. They need to be helping each against their two major enemy's. Why not unite the north with South by way of marriage. They could be co-monarchs or allow the regions to keep their sovereignty but each monarch would be a consort to their spouses region.

I feel like this is where were headed
Sadly i think it ends poorly for everyone...i think J and D die by story's end...

I thought the reason why Westeros got rid of Targaryen rule was because the incest created a mad leader every few generations. Wouldn't Jon and Dani together would make many people anxious?

reply

Very likely yes
But Targ rule ended when The Mad King went super cray and started toasting his own lieutenants in front of everyone...Top Starks included...
Robert started a rebellion and crushed that maniac's army (and son's chest at Battle of Trident...)
King Robert deposed the Targs by violence
