Just how are they.....

Going to get a wight past the wall? Isn't it magically protected? Benjen can't go past it. How would they get it past it?

And Cersei's old ass is just hitting menopause .....

reply

In season 1 a wight reanimated when the body of a NW guy was brought to the wall. The magic may only work on the Walkers or it may only prevent the wights and Walkers from getting in on their own but once they are there all bets are off. Also Eastwatch is by the sea so they just need to take it around.

And Cersei and Jaime are in their early-mid forties. She can still get pregnant, but the chances of bringing it to term are slim

reply

I think Cersei is only supposed to be mid-30s. Joffrey was only 14 when he died and I know Cersei was married to Robert at 18 and had Joffrey after 2 years which makes her 34.

The actors are much older than the characters, Dany was only 13 in the first book whereas Emilia was 25. Lena Headey is 43 in real life.

reply

There's a line where Twyin is talking to Jaime in season 4 where he says "For 40 years I've tried to teach you" etc...

Jaime and Cersei are twins, so that would put them in their mid 40's by now.

reply

I think that was an edit for the show to take account of Lenas age, Cersei is mid 30s in the books.

reply

Still, Olenna questioned her fertility when she was promised to Loras a couple of seasons ago saying that she is approaching her change or whatever.....book and show Cersei's are much different

reply

Ok, well in the show that puts her character and Jaime's in their mid 40s, which makes miscarriage a high possibility.

reply

In the show at least... however, with regards to Olenna, I think she just wanted Loras to marry a young bride who would have 20 years or so of having babies in her, even book Cersei would only have 10 years maximum really.

Hasn't been fully explained, but the magic barrier likely protects only the Wall itself (including the gates) from attacks by the undead. We'll probably see the Night King try a brute force attack and have the wights shatter like they do when struck by dragonglass or Valyrian steel when they touch it.

I'm speculating that they can go through the open tunnels, or maybe even up over the top, if they were properly bagged and caged so they didn't touch it.

reply

Benjen said he was touched by the White Walkers and so he has a bit of them in him so he can't go south of the wall or else the wall can't protect them.

Bran was also touched in S6 and he went south of the wall so they may be able to cross the wall.

reply

I also wondered that- if when they take the one it let them all through....or Bran but not so much.
