How much of season 6's leaks turned out to be true?

I wasn't here last year so I can't remember. Aside from the Shae part, were the other spoilers correct? Because some of this season spoilers (Cersei's pregnancy, Olenna drinking poison, THE ENTIRE CAST HUNTING A WIGHT) seem very soup opera-ish and to me seem like bad writing.

The other spoilers are pretty decent, except the fact the entire cast seem to get teleporters.

The question is irrelevant to predicting anything regarding the S7 leaks.
It's not like there would be a constant leaking mechanism repeating itself every year.

But it's likely the ratio of true and false leaks would stay similar.

reply

No, why? These are isolated events. A statistic approach requires quantity.

But it can give a good measure.

If its the same person, there is a constant leaking mechanism

If you mean all the spoilers that had come out months before the season then maybe about 5% or less.
The actual leaks come out right before or during the season.

reply

I mean the spoilers months before.

reply

So like I said, 95% of them turned out fake. We had a few spoilers limited to a specific location from extras, but no script leak. Never happened with any of the seasons.

reply

So there is no Jon hunting wights, Olenna suiciding, and Cersei pregnant? All we have is Jon meets Dany?

Interesting. I was reading the season 7 spoilers posted on reddit and most of the "spoilers" read like bad fan fiction. Really, the best way to determine spoilers for season 7 would be to see what new characters were being introduced, but none of that was there.

Please Note: The above post should be read in Roger Rabbit's voice.

reply

Now I'm thinking, maybe the leaker is simply a Dothraki extra. Would explain him knowing all that *beep* about Dragonstone's exterior shots, but all the other spoilers (interior ones and from other locations) are sketchy and vague.

reply

That could explain why we get almost nothing about Cersei, who is the big bad of the season.

I remember before the winds of winter everyone was debating about who would die in the episode, and nobody expected so many deaths. Heck most people didn't even expect Margaery to die.

reply

Like there would be an open battle between the Tyrell amry and the Faith militant. Instead it was resolved peacefully.

There were many.
There was even that big leak containing detailed description of each episode. Of course it turned out fake. Though it also had educated guesses which turned out true.

reply

There were no such leaks last season. No idea what everyone's talking about.

I distinctly remember some of these leaks, I think one of them was that Cersei would have the Mountain massacre Team Tyrell + the Sparrows.

reply

Yup

Albeit Tyrell vs. not + Sparrows

It was both if I remember correctly. Olenna sends the Tyrell army and Loras accidentally dies. It was assumed because of his new show.

reply

That was one of them with Mace and Loras dying. Then it didn't come to light in Season 6 and got replaced with the mountain slaughtering team Tyrell

reply

I see. I don't remember that.

Anyway, the novelty about this year's leaks is that they match word for word what is being filmed. That clearly never happened before.

reply

Umm not really. We only get the meeting of Jon and Dany and some smaller meetings. No Jon hunting wights, no Olenna suicide, no pregnant Cersei. Oh and btw apparently Diana Rigg is still filming so it's unlikely Olenna dies in episode 2, which is what the leaks say.

reply

No they don't. Euron meeting with Theon was completely overlooked

So barely 50%, for those of you proclaiming all of the s7 leaks to be true, realize the guy did this last season and was quite false for some of the events.

You can say the filming locations verify SOME of the leaks, but at best they verify 20-30%

reply

LOL.

I remember it now. That was obvious fan-fiction and no one really took it seriously. Nothing it said matched anything that was filmed (before it was actually filmed).

The situation this year is entirely different.

reply

Some of it did, the situation this year is exactly the same.

I have no idea why you're so gullible a to believe every single element of the leaks, the only thing that has been confirmed are whats in the filming locations. That's it.

The leaks this year are also fan-ficcy.

reply

The things last year's leak got "right" were things that had already been published by WOTW or L7R before (spoiler sites).

Not so this year. There is no way that anyone could have guessed that Jorah, Gendry, Jon and Davos would go on a quest, or that Davos and Tyrion would find Gendry in King's Landing, or that Jon would pet a dragon, etc. Not to mention countless other details.

Anyway, in 2 days they'll be filming a wight in King's Landing. Let's wait and see.

reply

... they didn't guess, it's from photos taken from filming.

I'm gonna laugh when you all realize that some of these leaks were very wrong.

reply

Exactly what I said, plus theu have yet to begin filming the "wight quest" so we don't really know what's going on about that. And Diana Rigg is still filming so her suicide plot is probably false, and I have yet to see any actual confirmation for Cersei's pregnancy.

reply

Filming took place this week. The leak is like 3 weeks old.

And what verification have we got for the wight quest, or Gendry's plotline? All we know is that Gendry is appearing.

reply

Denial is a powerful state but it won't make you free :(

reply

Neither will useless conjecture and adhering to hypothetical scenarios. There is no proof that a majority of this is true other than what we got on @ dragonstone.

reply

And even that is vague. All we know is who meets who, and that Jon pets Drogon.

reply

exactly.

reply

lol they got almost everything Dany wrong. There is still hope for season 7.

Do you remember any specific mistakes?

reply

In Vaes Dothrak, Dany BBQ the Khals all by herself, the spoiler said by Drogon.
The Dothraki follow her bc of her badassery, not "after a long confrontation".
Dany does not lock Drogon up.
Dany doesn't impose a curfew.
Jorah doesn't go without saying good bye to Dany and then is allowed to stay by her side.
Daario is not leader of the Harpys and does not take Dany captive and declares himself King.
Jorah doesn't kill Daario.

Oh thank you. I've seen all these theories but I didn't know they were "spoilers".

They also got Sansa so wrong it's funny.
