Poll: Who thinks season 7 is gonna be bombbbbbbb

I have very high hopes, I think it will be GoT at its very best!

reply

yes i do think D&D seriously bombed writing the season 7 scripts

reply

It will be even worse than Season 6.

I bet that you would say this even if D&D wrote a flawless script, because you're trying so hard to exaggerate flaws in the show to the point of making it out to be a terrible show :)

I have no expectations, other than that it will continue the story. I often find that if I hype something up so much (such as the book fanboys who expected an exact replica of the events of the books), I often disappoint myself. Which is why I'm taking a fairly neutral stance on the "leaks."

However, I'm sure that I will enjoy it.

As the show goes, I'm excited to see where D&D take us, but I'm still wondering what effect it's going to have on the novels. I'm way more excited for Book 6 but I still have reservations on the plot lines and tv series effect. For example, I would have love to have read Jon Snow coming back before the show did it. Or Stannis burning Shereen.

None. Why should it?

This is GRRM, the guy takes his time while writing, and now because of the show's additional fame he's gotten to the point where he just goes around doing signings and events, which is why this book is taking forever to write.

I'd love to read that as well, but GRRM doesn't understand that for him, time is money, and the longer he waits the less of an interest there will be in the following books, let alone the fact that he's an old man.

...or he has no idea how to end it properly.

Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Matrix...all started most impressive but failed with their finishs.

Of course it will be great. 6 was better than 5 and 7 will be another improvement. Despite the lack of Sapochnik's directing.

U sure? Viserion never had that much screen time but as mount of the NK?
Bronn, who just ceased to be among my favorite characters and needs to die a horrifying death, hurts poor innocent Drogon. We might see Dany taking care of him.

Absolutely sure. Or have you seen any set pics?

reply

Right you might have a point. Neither Drogon nor Viserion or Rhaegal have bees seen on set so far 

After the leaks I know it will be worse than season 6. I don't expect every line from the book to be put in the show, I didn't even like some parts of Dance with Dragons. Still, I would prefer the characters to be more like book ones. D&D do their best to deprive the story of it's debth. I'm more curious about the next book now than next season.

reply

The horrible thing is that they improved on the books in earlier seasons.
Season 6 cheapened it all, made it far worse than the drivel they used to filter and enhance. I don't even have the books to look forward to 😠

What do you consider an improvement ?
I was very disappointed with Dance with Dragons and I even thought about skipping the next book and just watching the show instead but now after all the leaks I want the book to be finally published. I think only the parts of it will be good but those parts will be definetely great when compared to D&D writting.

How did the show improve on the books?

First of all, and to me it would suffice if it were the only example but this can be generalized to others, it made Cersei a relatable, realistic character with sensible motives and a serious grasp of politics. It toned down the unnecessary exaggerations of several other characters as well and brought the age of children back to something that could halfway fit their actions.

Brienne is not ugly, Tyrion didn’t lose his nose, Roose Bolton doesn’t leech himself, there is no Vargo Hoat, no Strong Belwas, Mance Rayder’s stupid backstory was removed, then they also got rid of most of that silly warging and dreaming and glass candle stuff which fantasy fools cannot get tired of interpreting. Varys doesn’t cut the tongues of his Little Birds, Qyburn doesn’t carry out experiments on women Cersei provides him, Euron is not the most ridiculous pirate scarecrow ever, we don’t get to see people die of diarrhea outside of Meereen…

Hey, what more do I really have to say? The books are trash.

I believe it will be damn lit, but no way it's going to be better than season 6

Like season 6, a lot of logic will be thrown out the window for more fanservice moments and trying to meet expectations. But I have no doubt it will be extremely well made as always, and lot's of fun if you can stomach GoT losing the harsh gritty style it had in the early seasons.
